Plus SSN is trying to get more womens sport on there with the sportswomen shows etc. Doubt her being gay has a lot to do with it. A semi well known female looking to get into media is hardly a huge shock is it?

Suddenly thrust into a media job minutes after coming out. It's ok to be naive though m8, she would have got the job had she not come out. :|

It's amazing, though, the number of times a sportsperson doesn't come out as a homosexual, and is immediately given a job on tv.

Today, in part two, Kes ponders why Rachel Yankey appeared on Football Focus.

I will not be surprised that's British male footballer will come out soon (probably) in the latter part of his career to get a job in the media and perhaps a job with the FA to help with homophobia in the game.

Would you come out, if it meant furthering your career?

I don't think many people would be surprised. What would be wrong with someone doing that?

Quite right. Sky Sports ignored her long list of achievements at club level and her considerable international experience and only gave her the job because she is gay.

You'll be telling me next that Hope Powell only kept the England job for 15 years because off some LGBT conspiracy at the FA. Or maybe it was because her brother was the drummer in The Libertines?

I worked for the government for many years, in the recruitment process we are told to we need x amount of ethnic minorities and disabled people in job roles to fill the 'diversity' quota, regardless if they're competent for the job or not. In all honesty, Casey Stoney isn't the best person to be commentating on the EPL - but it looks good on them as an organisation to have her on board as as she covers both female and gay orientations.

No. He's played the race card to further his media career.

From Despair To Where? Because she's now coming towards the end of her football career and is pursuing other options that were not available to her earlier in her career.

Aren't the Reading FC Womens manager and one of their new signings an item?

Brilliant.

I'll give you a helping hand, because you need it: I won't be surprised either.

Now what shall we do?
