Maguire Thread's getting deleted anyway so what does it matter. Try not to whine like a bitch when it happens.

Really :?: :?

//Oh and get well soon to the big lad. Though a metasticised cancer in the brain....... not holding out much hope.

having watched people i know suffer from it, die from it, seeing the impact it has on the person and those around them, then yes. In my opnion I would state it as that, although there are other horrible ones around. Its absolutely terrifying and it could happen to anyone at anytime. One of the reasons why I hold no religious views.

Pray silence for a shit Hartson anecdote:

A mate of mine was at Swansea uni in the mid 90s. Went down to stay with him a few times and, after one weekend sampling the delights of The Kingsway with some total American slags from Sketty, we staggered back to the student house. Woke up in the morning and went for a piss only to pass a bloke in the corridor who was sneaking out one of the girl's bedrooms(needless to say, in true footballer style, the brainless but stunningly fit blonde one). He said "alright mate?", and I responded with a knowing "alright?". Thought he looked vagueley familiar, so when the girl got up, I asked her who he was. "Oh, he's a footballer. Said he plays for Arsenal".

And here's the coup de grace - this bird was a lezza, and Hartson nailed her. Fair fukks.

Words fail me. I dont think that I can think of anything worse. Hope he makes a full recovery. Unfortuantely, it sounds as if the lymph nodes have got involved which is seriously bad news.

Not sounding good.....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8151728.stm

Former Wales, Arsenal and Celtic striker John Hartson who is fighting testicular cancer is in a critical condition in hospital.

Doctors have confirmed that the cancer which had already spread to his brain, has now been diagnosed in his lungs.

The 34-year-old, capped by Wales 51 times, was diagnosed at the weekend.

He was transferred to Morriston Hospital in Swansea on Tuesday and underwent emergency surgery and is now receiving round-the-clock care.

Oof, sadly I don't think it sounds like he's going to make it.

Lance Armstrong made it. Looks pretty grim though.

Christ.

How long would he have been walking around with testicular cancer without realising it for it to spread so quickly to his other organs?

This is where getting cancer in the lymph nodes effectively brings down the curtain. That's why my wife is still alive and why my Mum isn't!

It shows how important it is to make regular checks.

Poor guy.

3 of my friends have had testicular cancer and all are still alive today - albeit each with one fewer ball. I can't help but think Hartson must have been carrying this for some time before it got to this stage.

Hartson is by no means out of the woods, some words of thanks here for fans of Rangers and Cardiff from the Swansea fan and former Celt.
