From Despair To Where? any club that averages less than a goal a game over the course of a season doesn't deserve to make the playoffs.

That's silly logic. You can look at blackpool and say any team that relies on another team not getting a penalty and couldn't win their last home game of the season doesn't deserve to make the play-offs.

Luck averages itself out over the course of the season. Swansea scored 40 goals in the league and drew 18 games, 10 of which were 0-0. Over half their defeats were by a single goal.

Had they matched the number of goals scored of the bottom 2 (Plymouth 43 and Peterborough 46) they would be in the playoffs.

So on the one hand you say that an average of less than a goal a game isn't good enough, then you say that scoring 43 in 46 would be? Which is it fella?

No, I'm saying that considering they scored fewer goals over the course of a season than the 2 teams cut adrift at the bottom of the table, bemoaning 1 incident in the final minute of the final game of the season is somewhat churlish.

They failed to make the playoffs because they drew too many games and they drew too many games because they don't score enough goals.
