NL Results tonight:

Tuesday 8th Oct

CONF Prem:
Aldershot 3-3 Luton
Woking 0-0 Barnet

CONF S:
Eastbourne Boro 5-2 Farnboro

SOUTH Prem:
Burnham 2-4 Redditch,
Chesham 3-0 Camb City
Hungerford 3-1 Banbury,
- was at this one - Hungerford very mobile with the ball down both flanks and stifled a fairly one dimensional Puritans forward line - included a huuuge CF; whereas his strike partner was far more threatening but the ball continually got fired way over his head to the 'big unit'. Mad 10' late first half : game was lost and won - Banbury took the lead - smart turn and low finish from edge of the box past ex-Thatcham KP Strudley - then moments later Banbury missed a pen. Hungerford then got two in as many minutes just before the break. Got a third late 2nd half on following a dreadful defensive tangle between CB and KP leaving Hungerfords' no 9 to roll the ball into an empty net and kill the visitors off.

1 Central
Ashford (Mx) 1-4 Beaconsfield SYCOB
Daventry 2-0 Egham
Northwood {EIGHT} 8-3 Chertsey
1 S&W
Thatcham 0-1 North Leigh

FA Trophy replays
Cirencester 7-1 Diddy :(
Bridgwater 3-3 Chalfont St P Home side progress 5-3 on pens

B&B Trophy
Newport Pagnell Town 0-1 Sandhurst Town :)
Windsor 4-2 Wantage

Hants Cup
Hartley Wintney 0-3 Havant & W

CCL Prem:
Bedfont Sp 1-2 Westfield
Cove 0-3 Molesey ,
South Park 6-1 Chessington & Hook,

Hellenic Prem:
Ardley 2-1 RTFC
Brimscomb & Th 0-5 Kidlington
Highworth 1-1Highmoor/IBIS
Holyport 3-2 Newbury

...and the best til last .... YUP they finally did it: lucky league game no. 14 :D :D :D :D

Ab. Utd 3-2 Shrivenham - first league points.

Considering Windsor beat Binfield's league leaders, Wantage, 4-2 last night, I'm hoping you might be a little premature with that prediction! :D

Was it though? I don't know. They did look good. Well, in the first half I thought they played some superb football and although it was 2-2 after 20 mins I was fearful I have to admit. We just gradually got to grips with their movement and could / should have had a couple more in the 2nd half.

After a dodgy spell last month we have started playing very well again recently.

...looking at their own sites' brief report, they do mention certain absences and made precautionary substitutions during last nights' match but seem fairly gracious in accepting their defeat - and are very complimentary about Windsor's pitch amongst other things-

Great club with a lovely set up.

...but as a competition it possibly wasn't high in their 'Fish to Fry' stakes.

Agree ; looks like Trophy could be Binfield's if they have the depth of resources and will to win. Neither HIghmoor/IBIS nor Flackwell will be pushovers for them next and the latter possibly feel they 'owe them one' for dumping them out of the FA Cup.
Windsor must be in a small cluster of 2nd faves: - next opponents Shrivvy are 'big and awkward' but are still adapting to a new style from their previous regime and will need to be showing much better form than of late, to upset Windsor @ Stag Meadow, I'd have thought.
RTFC could feature too - again I feel in this competition it'll be down to appetite, as much as ability. The 'Scours Lane mob' might feel this is something they can make a push for - they won it in recent history under Colin Millard too I think? Can't see Holmer Green being too much of an obstacle for them - saw HG win last week in the First Round @ Faraday Rd and though tidy enough, were not exactly pressed much by a very under-powered Newbury.

... might well have gone to Stag Meadow last night but decided to give all the 'nasties' up that way on the M4, a very wide berth and headed W to jn 14 instead. Seems the Southern League game at Burnham was delayed too - presumably someone got stuck in the tailbacks that were paralysing the general neighbourhood yesterday eve?

'Fizzers' win at recent holders Newport Pagnell looked good on the surface but NPT are not the strength they were according to the UCL Table/Results for 13/14.

Good luck to our three 'local' sides in the FA Cup - and a shout out to Brislington @ W-S-M tomorrow: a STEP05 'survivor' - as per H.Wintney - they started in this competition on 16th August in the Extra Preliminary Round away at Barnstaple and followed this with wins over St Blazey, Wells and Truro in the last round. Indeed Hartley Wintney to reach this stage have played two games more needing replays to get past Kidlington and Camberley - co-incidentally I was there for both replays! :shock: - F£cked if I'm trekking down to Clevedon on Monday night though, should they need another replay! :lol:
- Tomorrow most likely push for a 'new' ground: either Cup games at Maidstone or Bridgwater - M'way permitting

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... and of course not forgetting the big 'East Berks derby' - though the Rebels still ply their trade from S.Bucks for the meanwhile ..... :?
Berks & Bucks Senior Cup First Round:
Maidenhead United v Slough Town
NOTE: {from MUFC site} Admission prices for Saturday's match will be: Adults £5, Concessions £3, Children under 16 - free.
Full NL results review tomorrow but brief headlines from this PM (Sat 12th):
FA Cup :
Hartley Wintney down to 10 men hold Clevedon 1-1 - so it is a replay on Monday night! Scott Murray (yes him) missed pen for visitors. Att 401
Diddy L0-1 v Shortwood
Hungerford beaten 0-2 @ Poole Town
..and my shout out to Brislington from the Western Prem worked - they won 3-2 at W-S-M - three steps above them in the Pyramid. :)
B&B Senior Cup
Slough W3-1 at York Rd vs 'Magpies' :now host Wycombe in S-F mid November time
Leagues:
CCL
Windsor L2-3 @ Horley - bit of an upset there - reading reports on NLM of a flurry of Red/Yellow cards in a 'full-blooded encounter' ??
Farnham bt Epsom & E 3-0
SouthPark put daylight behind them at the top with a 2-1 win @ Camberley
Cove put 6 past Bedfont Sports without reply
HELLP
Binfield suprisingly lose 0-1 H to Brimscomb
Bracknell thumped 0-4 by Thame at Larges Lane
Highmoor/IBIS overpowered Ab Town 5-0 at Palmer Pk - I believe a certain Ray Spence has recently joined - debuted in an ill-tempered affair at Highworth in midweek but scored the H/I goal.
Newbury beaten 4-2 at rapidly improving Kidlington
Nomads edge past Ardley 4-3 and re-take 2nd place
RTFC W4-1 @ Shrivenham
Wantage stay top beating Holyport 3-0
The important thing to take from today isn't the result. Its that poor old slough had a nice day out at a proper ground.
That and the fact that I got to meet Chrisof, who's a lovely chap and I got an opportunity to remind him Royal Rother is a massive pedo and not to be trusted around your children
Win win really
