6ft Kerplunk Or been drinking at lunchtime and just thought it looked better for you if you said you'd been drinking the night before. If he's stopped drinking at say 2am how far over the limit would he have been at that time to still be over the limit 12hrs later?

yeah sounds like bs to me, a pro athlete should be able to shake that off no time

Former £9M West Ham player Savio Nsereko has been arrested in Thailand for false kidnapping and extortion. The 23 year old former Brecia, Fiorentina, 1860 Munich & West Ham man is believed to have racked up sizeable bills on vacation in the city of Pattaya and struggling to pay, called members of his own family claiming kidnap and asking for €25,000 ransom. Nsereko will stand trial in Germany.

Well you'd have got around 6 whole pints out of your system in that 12 hours, plus all the beer you'd have got out before 2am

Do not get how he is guilty and the other man isn't. She has no memory so its all about too drunk to consent so quite how the other guy is free i do not know.

And 1000's of men and women are rapists in the eyes of the law. :? Very tricky case thats for sure.

I thought it had been shown that she had spent time with the other guy during the night and had willingly returned to the hotel with him, or something like that.

I don't see what's tricky about it. She didn't consent to sex with him - she couldn't - and he fcuked her anyway.

It's just her word against 2 men though. Clearly rape is one the hardest crimes to be 100% sure on but if the innocent man says she was willing to sleep with Ched Evans then that sways it more for me. Apparently the man who got off was friends with her beforehand so not as if he is just treating her as a random nobody he won't ever have to deal with again.

Clearly in a rape case like this there is always going to be doubt on both sides as it's not as clear cut, but just as devastating, as some crimes.

If she wasn't capable of consenting to sex with Evans, how was she able to consent with the other bloke though? Fooling around with him in the club and going back with him doesn't equal consent, and if she was then too drunk to consent with Evans then I'd assume the same with the other guy.

I can understand why someone might say its a bit of a tricky one.

I'm no 'rapist sympathizer' and think what was done was shady regardless if she was able to consent but 5 years in jail? To me 'rape' is far too strong a word for a case like this. Maybe it's just because i've seen it all too often in dramas and its always played as violent and aggressive rather than a man taking advantage and it's never hit anyone close to my thankfully.

Either way i think young people need educating to the laws regarding consent and safe drinking as i bet 1000's of girls wake up not clearly remembering what happened the night before.

But she wasn't. People working at hotel heard her making sexual noises so she clearly wasn't KO'd!

Further down the article...

Branch began his football career in the Everton youth academy and made his debut for the first team in 1996, when he was just 18.

After a number of loan spells, he was sold to Wolves in 2000 for £500,000. After a season and a half in the first team at Molineux, he was loaned to Reading and then Hull City, before signing for Bradford in 2003.

Spells at Chester City and Halifax Town followed, before he finished his playing career with Burscough in 2010.

Similar story here by BBC Sport

Michael Branch, an ex-Everton and Wolves player, jailed Clubs Branch played for include Everton, Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bradford City.
Former Everton and Wolves player Michael Branch has been sentenced to seven years in jail, after pleading guilty to drugs offences.

Branch, 34, admitted charges of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs at Chester Crown Court.

One charge related to the seizure of 1kg of cocaine from his home address in Otterspool, Liverpool in July.

Branch first played for Everton's first team in 1996 when he was 18.

A second charge related to the handover of just under 3kg of amphetamine to another man in a Liverpool car park in March.

He was arrested on 10 July and was sentenced on Thursday.

Matt Burton, from the Serious Organised Crime Agency, said: "This was significant criminality committed by someone who would once have been viewed as a role model.

"The message here is that entering the illegal drugs trade is a route to prison, not to financial gain and a celebrity lifestyle."

Branch also played for Bradford City and Chester City as well as having loan spells at Manchester City, Reading and Hull City.

Ha, ol' "Jigsaw".

I well remember the game at Brizzle City where he came on as a sub, soon got injured and subbed.

Memorable events of the day were the Queen Mum dying of shock because of the 5 goals in the first 15 minutes and trying to escape the Death Spiral that is the Bristol road system.

Ideal No sympathy for him, he smashed that while it was unconscious, so he can rot in jail.

I have a mate who works in the medical wing of HMP Walton, which is where I believe Branch is residing.

Anyone want an autograph?
