Kitson12 I said one of, ONE OF, not THE best old man, put your reading glasses on.

Don't forget Victor's about 76 and doesn't have many teeth or much hair left....and is incontinent at night.

Loads of hair, teeth not far off immaculate (one of those annoying people who look so much younger than they are) but the eyes....they are (or at least one of them is) that of about an 85 year-old so the odd missed word ought to be forgiven.

Tredder He's a dream team sensation, quite remarkable really, because this time last year, he was in and out of the side, they couldn't win with him in it, and now, he is probably the best left sided player in the world, on current form, but what a waste of an international career.

Even better last season when Fantasy Premier League had him down as a Defender which meant 6 points per goal instead of 5 and a 4 point bonus for clean sheet instead of 3 8)

4 points for a cleansheet instead of 1, my son!

'Arry's been a bit of an arse and played him at left-back a bit in the league though recently.

My error - I often get midfielders who score 5 points and forgot that the 3 is for an assist not a clean sheet

Tony Le Mesmer 3 great goals, none of which would have been scored if the game wasnt already over.

You must be very clever to know that none of these goals would have been scored if the game wasn't already over....how the hell do you know that?
Bale caused Inter's right back problems all night. In the first half he beat him easily on a number of occasions and made it look effortless. As with many games the second-half became more stretched and Bale used his speed and skill to good advantage. Inter could not handle his pace when he had space to run into.
He's a terrific talent.

My point is Inter would not have let a player run half the length of the pitch twice if they were 1-0 up or drawing. Theyd have fouled him long before he got a chance to shoot. Its alot easier to score when the opposition have taken the foot off the pedal. Good as they were, 1 goal that counts > a meaningless hattrick.

OK Bale scored a hat-trick, but it only counts as one 'cos they were all bloody identical.

Completely one-dimensional

Not really. Inter didn't care too much tonight(apparently). Of course he's quite good frimmers. He's a Cardiff lad innit.

After missing the United game due to still being stuck in Phil Neville's pocket it was good to see Bale back on the pitch last night.

he is good there is no doubt about that, but he will not get half that space from any premier league team this season. Inter over the 2 legs have set up against him utterly appallingly, which is Rafa's fault. No suprise there, the bloke is a fucking clown.

Have to agree re the second leg - they got warning of what Bale could do, yet Maicon continued to give him acres of time on the ball.

Not only that, but for what is a fairly slow back line with Lucio, Walter Samuel, and Chivu, they played surprisingly high up the pitch in both ties. Bale had the option of knock and run, and as Maicon was pushing forward the only defender capable of matching him for pace was out of the equation. It's not surprising he got so much joy playing against Rafa's tactics.

I can pretty much guarentee that a year ago Bale would not have had that level of freedom.

^^^ 'Greed, Giggs had been doing it consistently and a lot better for 3 or 4 years by the time he was 21.

Do you disagree with the assessment that Bale was given far too much space?
