It's the biggest international tournament Bale and Ramsey will ever get to play in, which I think is the point.

Bellamy also has been speaking out in favour of Welsh players representing Team GB next summer.

The England squad for 2012 I picked was as follows

Leaving the following seniors available for my three picks. I went for a GK as we don't have a top U23 one, a striker to lead the line and the legendary Ryan Giggs ahead of Beckham, as hes playing at a higher level.

To be honest who actually cares?

Football shouldn't be an Olympic sport. Neither should Tennis. We get enough Football action this summer with the European Championships.

Why do you have to exclude the whole of the Euros squad? Has that been announced as a hard and fast rule by Team GB?

The two tournaments don't overlap and I can see a few players perhaps doubling up if they've not really been used in the Euro's. If they don't all they'll do is join up with their clubs for pre-season a week later.

I've not thought about who I'd have in my Team GB, but without over aged players I think it'll be struggling upfront a bit.

Nothings hard and fast on Team GB, it took years to form and still no one decides. Initially the FA was very clear that no player at Euro 2012 would go to Team GB.

However Stuart Pearce has now stated he is free to choose who he likes. But if you consider how Ferguson and Wenger would react to Wellbeck, Walcott and Wilshere playing both then I think its safe to say Pearce will decide the England players will be too tired so he wouldn't choose them anyway. Very succintly
The FA We did not say players would be selected for both tournaments, but stated clearly the organisation would not be locked into a policy of ruling it out.

Either way at least one of Sturridge, Welbeck or Carroll probably won't go to the Euros with Bent and Rooney so thats a starting point. Then all you really have are the accursed Scott Sinclair, Connor Wickham, David Goodwillie, John Fleck, Sam Vokes and our own Hal Ronson-Kanu, so as above, I would take one of Defoe/Crouch/Zamora/Andy Johnson along as one of the three.

Bit of a big statement considering the form were flying into, towards the 2014 qualifying.

Agreed, I'd certainly look at an over aged player upfront plus the left overs from the youngster you mention who won't go to the Euros. If Sturridge goes to the Euro's and doesn't really play I'd take him too. Same would go for a Cleverly, Smalling or Walker.

They already play in it like most of the England team...Champs League.

&another example of Bellers needing to keep his mouth shut.
