'greed. Even Ronaldo has never looked that good. Amazing player! He just rides tackles, and see's opportunity's well in advance of everyone else.

Rooney is a completely different player and would still get my vote.

Did you hear Graeme Souness say that and just repeat it?

This match did remind me of something I really hate in football and that is the crap commentators announcement of a hat trick in so many minutes while totally ignoring the time it took for them to score their first goal.

'Messi scores a hat-trick in 21 minutes!' No he didn't. What about the 20 minutes he was trying to score before he scored his first you thick c***?

Bit over rated Messi really, just really one footed and also doesn't have as good a goal to game ratio than Ronaldo has this season.

The start of a hat trick begins when the first goal is scored so Messi did score a 21 minute hat trick actually.

I am well aware that many people will claim what you have above but I just don't agree. if you score on 77, 82 & 89 then you have not scored a 12 minute hat-trick, you have scored an 89 minute hat-trick. Why does the 76 minutes you couldn't score for suddenly not count??

Mike Newell scored three times in nine minutes against Rosenborg in the 95-96 Champions League, not good enough Messi!!!

He's no Maradona as yet, but he has years on his side, he's currently the best player in the world and he's the best by some margin.

Needs a fantastic WC, maybe 2 to enter the top, top players bracket.
