Scarcely watchable opening 45 minutes that have left me pining for the Deutschland opener from last time

:| @ all the love for Mexico --try living next to the 110 million of 'em who haven't crossed over

At least the Welsh and Scots speak the language, listen to the same music and don't run around celebrating their half-dozen annual national holidays in your face

Gorgeous ball forward to make that goal

The game had sort of settled into a pattern leading up to it --energetic and at times pretty but ultimately ineffectual stuff from the hosts, with the Mexicans in their turn walking it up the middle of the park to the edge of the S.A. area before a defender put a foot in and launched another attack

Hosts playing much, much better this half, and from the off

The Mexicans keep walking it up the middle and ultimately getting nowhere, and the hosts look a real threat every time they win the ball back and get it moving upfield

Needless to add, I'm absolutely loving it (but would like it even more if they could add that second)

1-1 would be mighty fine thank you very much.

Sounds like a great second half.

Does it need to be said that ITV should never be allowed near football?

1-1. Great second half and SA will be really disappointed about that one. Should have wrapped it up at the end. Mexico amazingly suspect to the plain old hoof over the top.

Not to dispute you on the facts, Arky, but the Mexicans have their own slew of missed chances to be rue'd --only from the first half in their case and a bit less fresh in the memory

Fair result, I've got to think (but again it's got to be asked --how did he miss?!)
