Zaretsky

Zaretsky God I hope Atleti beat those Merengue pricks. Their fans are insane but they are actually fans.

Yeah those Krazy Atletico fans:

'Real Madrid's Brazilian full-back Marcelo and his young son were subjected to horrific racist abuse by Atlético Madrid supporters after his side's 3-0 Copa del Rey semi-final first leg victory against their city neighbours.

Marcelo did not play in the game but joined a handful of team-mates in a warm-down session around 20 minutes afterwards. At that stage the only supporters left in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium were around 500 Atlético fans high in the north stand. As Marcelo ran towards them, they launched into monkey chants which were clearly audible in the virtually empty arena.

Marcelo stopped immediately below the fans and, motionless, gazed up at them before contuining his exercise. They then chanted: "Marcelo is a monkey." When Marcelo's young son came out and hugged his father soon after, the chant changed to: "May your father die".'

Let's hope 'proper' fans like them win because they're not 'pricks' at all.

Who said they weren't pricks as well? And are you saying that every Atletico Madrid fan is a card-carrying racist?

Listen, Sandman, you're not going to get much change challenging Zaretsky on a debate of this nature when the man refers to a team as 'merengue' pricks.

He'll get his just desserts though.

On that subject some, interesting chants aimed at Papa Diop from the lovely Atletico fans yesterday.

I Don't buy this lack of a World class striker bullshit. They've done the double over their 2 main rivals at the top but lost it with their results against the bottom 5. Etoo and Torres May not be the players they were 5 ago but they are still decent strikers. Ba is a decent enough striker. The real problem seems to be breaking down defensive teams which is where the refusal to use and then sale of Mata seems so bizarre. If the striking position is such a problem for them why sell Sturridge knowing that Drogba was on his way out and let Lukaku out on loan and not bring somone in?

Good point. Of course what shithead really wanted was a striker who would chase back become the 10th defender when needed. Not really the strongest parts of Eto'o, Torres or Ba's game.

That's what Drogba was so good at and admittedly, it's not really Lukaku's or Sturridge's game but at the start of the season, with players like Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Willian and Lampard available in midfield, it kind of backs up Hazard's criticisms of Mourinho's tactics that they are not set up to play football and precisely the criticisms that were levelled at Mourinho at Inter and Real.

Seems to me he came back to Chelsea because there is a cabal in the media and a cabal of older players still at the club who indulge him and stroke his ego. The emperor has returned and he has no new clothes

6ft Kerplunk John Terry probably.

Yes.

PS. Don't forget it's Fulham v Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup final tonight on ITV4.

Kes, you forgot to tell everybody the score and how it might have been a bigger defeat if Dembele hadn't taken a showboating penalty.

I bet he'll tell you the aggregate score.

What I like most about that is that he seems to be trying to be angry about it all, but struggling against waves of apathy.

It speaks to me.

In reply to Kes:-

With all those goals given away I doubt that many of these Chelsea youngsters will make it through to their first team whilst Mourinho is still there.

....whereas if that was the Liverpool Youth team giving away so many goals, I'm sure they would fit right into their first team at the moment.

Sorry, hadn't realised a debate was being suggested. I did just check the rules though and indeed it turns out I am allowed to dislike Real Madrid.

Who said that you weren't allowed to dislike them? Half of Spain hate them so I doubt one more will make a difference.
