I can't see Terry's slight tightening of a hamstring causes too much concern, and I'd be pretty amazed if he wasn't in the squad and starting against France.

If Cahill is out then it makes it very interesting. Would Richards get the nod? Would Hodgson and Rio find a way of bringing him in? Or would they take the easier option of Martin Kelly coming in and Jones being nudged up a place in the centre half pecking order.

Another one bites the dust, unfortunately this time it's a key player (in my opinion). What has Micah Richards done to STILL not be considered?

Sums up England at the moment that the club with the most players in the squad is the club that has underachieved the most this season. Shocking.

apparently Richards didn't want to go on the back up list because it was Stuart Pearce, who has no link to the senior set up at the moment, instead of Hodgson who rung him to tell him he hadn't made the cut

Rio's understandable with his back problems and the whole Terrytwat saga. But agree the lack of Richards is baffling.

As someone said above, disappointingly, Richards asked not to be on standby so presumably that has ruled him out of being called up post squad.

Absolutely. A snide little cowards shove that always has a risk of leading to injury because the recipient isn't expecting it.

I can't remember another England squad so badly hit by injuries.

tbf I dont think he meant to break his jaw - defenders are always shielding the ball when they don't have control of it so it's not surprising the attackers push the defender in the back

A push in the back like that, which throws two 14st blokes colliding like that, when they're not bracing themselves for it is just that bit more dangerous though.

I'm sure he didn't mean to injure either of, it's just a shitty and cowardly foul.

'Greed.

It could have been much worse tbh, at that speed if they'd have clashed heads (which they weren't far away from doing) both could have been knocked out.

Ferdinand's complaining about not being picked shows precisely why he wasn't picked
