Stuka Superb evening. Great game, and even up in the Gods the England fans were uncharacteristically in fine voice.

Bring back the Home Internationals and cancel all other world football.

If you ever get the opportunity, a trip up to Hampden to watch England is unrivalled anywhere else in world football. I went up there last time we played them in '99 for a place at Euro 2000 and the atmosphere was just evil. The return match at Wembley was decent (atmosphere wise) but their pure hatred is something to behold up there.

I attended this, yeah I know I know LOL @ me.

Kind of a decent game of football between two poor sides tbh I guess. Hodgson's England are the most depressing rabble since Graham Taylor's management (and to be fair to Taylor, he had a relative amount of dross to choose from: Keith Curle ended up going to Euro 92  ), save the predictably shambolic efforts of Steve MacLaren in managing to get a 'Golden Generation' not to qualify for Euro 2008.

That 'Golden Generation' has fallen apart now; Gerrar, Lampard and Rooney are the elder statesmen and god, bring back Terry ad Ferdinand and spare us Cahill and Jagielka :| . Rooney for his part looked like a retired old footballer playing in a testimonial, head was willing, legs long since gone. He's on the way down, rapidly. Yeah yeah he's not played all summer, make whatever excuse you want for the bloke.....he looked exactly the same most of last season to me. Gerrard kept wanting to hit Hollywood passes in a side which otherwise wants to play a short, narrow and utterly insipid sideways passing game. No width at all, although yet we still managed to somehow isolate Walcott out on the right wing for most of the first half, double-marked. First ball over the top to him, goal. He plays down the middle for Arsenal these days, so play him there for England, Hodgson! I hated England's slow, plodding, sideways game. Baines - one of our best players - had lots of the ball but barely crossed it once.

Ah, Hodgson. Mr Beige, safe pair of hands, midtable Premier League with WBA. Typical FA appointment, after all they overlooked Cloughie twice didn't they? Our expectations with regard to the national team should be scaled down to just being glad they've qualified, beyond the group stages would be beyond my wildest expectations with this group of players and this set up. I suppose that is what you get from a Premier League which is almost exclusively foreign owned isn't it, a national team which is an inconvenient afterthought.

Finally - dregs of society attend England games! It seemed to be entirely made up of West Ham fans in replica England shirts thinking that everything they follow/represent is the best thing since sliced bread. I f*cking hate cockneys, irritating self-loving twats. Scotland fans > England fans.
