Archie's penalty Looking forward to seeing Vela play for his country (should he start). Also Marquez has huge amounts of experience. I just can't see South Africa losing in their first game.

Score draw imho.

Not too bad a prediction imho.

Good game all round, Mexico look excellent, if only when they go forward and good fightback from SA. But Mexico should have won this game with ease, 3 up at HT would still have flattered SA.

ITV can fck off. Appalling and bizarly biased commentary.

From Despair To Where? 1-1

Mexico struggle away from home soil and historically do not handle pressure that well. South Africa is possibly a must win game for them. Opening games are usually cagey matches that can throw up the odd upset so a game against the hosts, who are in reasonable if unspectacular form is no easy task in front of a noisy and passionate home crowd.

I think South Africa will struggle to qualify from the group but they by no means whipping boys and will want to put on a show to prove themselves worthy hosts. They will fancy their chances of picking up something from all their games. Results against them could decide who goes through.

A work of art sir.

Definitely a wide open group. I'm hoping for a hilarious situation where they all end on the same points.

Poor defending for the Mexico goal, but great move for South Africa's

Mexico should have been home and dry by half time and in the final reckoning were lucky to escape with a point, South Africa were plucky but no great shakes. In the light of the France-Uruguay result, Mexico must look on the result as a massive, massive oportunity lost
