Soton ban photographers from games

by Skyline » 10 Aug 2010 12:16

Southampton have banned photographers (other than one 'official' photographer) from their ground, leading Plymouth Argyle to use cartoons to illustrate their match report:

"I was watching the game on TV and took a sketch book with me. I have never done anything like this before, I have never known it happen before.

Didn't the EPo used to have cartoons giving a potted history of a match back in the 60s/70s? Before I moved to Reading, but I'm sure I've seen some reproduced in various books.

Eddie from Evening Post wasn't allowed in the ground for our friendly the other week, this is outrage!

You might be thinking of Areyff(sp?) who used to do charicatures of players / incidents - but these were to support photos rather than to replace them....

Very much a Reading Chronicle man - any idea anyone when he stopped? About 1972?

So are all the press going to agree to never write a word about Saints and never buy a photo?

That would seem the best way to not let them get away with this atrocious crap

Haven't seen her in years, but she used to be lovely. Glad to hear she's aged reasonably well though.

I shall pass on your congratulations.

I've not worked with her for some time, for all I know it could have all gone wrong by now, but certainly back in '97 I'd consider your mate to be one of life's winners

Probably about the last time I saw her.

Considering he looks like a ginger David Essex, he always did quite well slagwise in those days. He also supports Reading, so hopefully he's reading this.
