'smallish club, somewhere north of the M25'

by floyd__streete » 15 Aug 2010 19:52

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -club.html

^ the above is, in a nutshell, why Chelsea are held in such contempt by football supporters across the land. This current Chelsea side is the best I can ever remember, scoring 6, 7 or even 8 goals a game on a regular basis and with a top manager they were worthy double winners. So why their chairman feels the need to belittle another club with a needless dig is beyond me, especially with reference to a super little player who has served their club so well.

18 titles & 5 European Cups > 4 titles and 0 European Cups.

Chelsea's hatred of all things Liverpool must be about the most one sided rivalry in football, Liverpool have bigger fish to fry.

It's trash-talk like this that causes funny things to happen on a football pitch. Roy Hodgson's team talk for their fixtures against Chelsea has been written for him!

Remember the target audience. His comments seemed to be fairly tongue in cheek and, as they were in the programme notes, we shouldn't forget that he was effectively speaking directly to Chelsea supporters. I've seen some hilarious comments in programmes before aimed at local rivals and suchlike. The difference is that, nowadays, tabloid newspapers have an insatiable appetite for manufacturing indignation in response to relatively trivial matters.

I'm disappointed in you Floyd. The Mail is shit-stirring and you shouldn't encourage them.

Seemed symptomatic of the billy-big-b*llocKs attitude Chelsea as a club seems to have, JSC. And as I say, hardly a respectful reference towards a player who has served them so well.

Are we really surprised by this? We're talking about a club who Peter Kenyon once claimed would "turn the world blue" and be the "biggest of the lot in 20 years". That's right, bigger than Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Man U and Liverpool.

In recent history Buck is probably right (even if he is Joking).Although Liverpool have still managed to win one more European Cup in the time that Abramovich has been at the Bridge than Chelsea have.

The same sort of thing has started to happen at Man City. Remember Garry Cook claiming that Milan were amateurs when it came to handling big transfers during the Kaka saga? It's typical of the Brainless idiots who run these clubs and get paid millions to do it.

I am shite at predicting scores, but this one was close.

Lovable Lamps, triffic Terry and Malouda and Anelka come good after their, no other word for it, embarrassing World Cup.

That showed the Baggies.

floyd__streete 18 titles & 5 European Cups > 4 titles - 3 of them paid for with Russian mafia money.

Chelsea's real rivals have always been Tottenham well certainly off the pitch scrapping on the cobbles. I've got mates who support both clubs and they agree both sets of fans really don't like each other.
