Seen THAT Before

Bristol City chairman swearing he'll back the manager said yesterday:

"To be honest the first ten games of this season have been virtually our pre-season."

I wonder if he knows Rodgers?

I'm told Bristol City made an approach to Alan Curbishley last week and were apparently sent on their way by Alan Shearer, so Lansdown's word doesn't appear to be worth very much. Much like his signing of David James behind Steve Coppell's back.

Lols

Landsdown is one most honest and sincere men in football. You just have to look at the backing he gave both Tinnion and Johnson. Tinnion resigned and Johnson only got the boot after a dressing room 'incident'.

How did he sign James behind Coppell's back when it was Coppell who made the initial call to James after Lansdown had been approached by James's agent?

Where did you hear there was an approach for Curbishley or Shearer. Just think about it.

The mistake was thinking that City were getting the total package of success with appointing Coppell. Not understanding what Coppell needs around him to be successful.

City are in a lot of trouble and Coppell left the club in a total mess, with a terrible pre season and horrific signings (Damion Stewart and Nick Hunt) leaving the club totally devoid of confidence and momentum.

Hopefully Millen can turn it round, Landsdown will give him his full support though.

CSB I know.....

That might be a little hard on the chairman about Coppell's appointment. You know what you can expect from Steve and unfortunately his heart just wasn't in it any more when perhaps he thought he'd got th elove and enthusiasm back.

I think the preseason comment is fair as well. With Coppell leaving so early it must have been like a preseason for the new guy coming in. Whereas our good friend had already had a full pre-season.

But then I'm biased against Rodgers because I found him a particularly odious individual.
