Apparently it's the FA's 150th anniversary. Nothing to do with Wembley being the perfect setup, avoiding them needing to erect separate marquees etc.

2012/2013 - top 4 finish <----------Champions league final this season
2013/2014 - earliest we can get to the champions league final

I had it in my head, that the winner of the fa cup would qualify for some reason, I know thats the Europa league but i'm sure it was different before!
