Famous Mickey-Takes

by Snowball » 11 Dec 2011 11:46

I absolutely LOVED Jimmy Kebe's little Mickey-Take.

I totally believe he was right to do what he did.

For one thing, we were winning 2-0 and closing down the game, WH players were not coming out to
challenge him and Cummings. It was one way to say, "Well, we can play tippy-tappy out here as long
as you let us."

And it was FUNNY, entertained the crowd. It also hurt WHU and led to a third goal. Brilliant.

Claridge is a total vanka for his comments, but I just wondered, what other PT's have there been?

I remember watching the great Leeds side. They were beating WBA 4-0 and stroking the ball around.
Leeds fans getting restless, wanting more. Billy Bremner suddenly stops, puts foot on the ball and puts
his hand up, gesturing "5", to all four stands. A minute later and it's 5-0.

Ronaldo took the P many, MANY times (and it a much more arrogant way than Jimmy)

George Best did more than once though I confess I can't remember actual incidents.

Didn't RVP and Henry do a Mickey-Taking penalty for Arsenal (which failed)?

And Balotelli, anyone?

Just wondering what other P-takes people can think of?

The one that infuriates me is taking the ball into the corner-flag.

Rodney Marsh sitting on the ball. Instead of old pros lining up to call it disrespectful it instead gets into the opening sequence of the following season's programmes.

I thought he was standing on the ball and then looking for a pass, rather than saluting

That goal by Carlos Alberta is nothing like the taunting that Leeds did.

As for Pele almost walking when he made the pass, he received, stood still waiting on the run and facing up his marker before playing the pass at the perfect time (and weight).
