I can't see that ever happening, certainly not at the highest level. I'm not against it, far from it, but in a game that is rife with homophobia, racism and sexism (the uproar alone about the female lino); how is a woman going to earn the respect of over-paid players that think they know better? You only have to look at how the Chelsea players forced AVB out of the club, and he is a grown man and previously successful coach at a big club like Porto. Sexism would work in the same way against any woman manager. The players simply wouldn't respect her.

nobody will respect a bit of skirt in the dressing room sad but true. sexism isnt really the issue at hand, its more to do with particular male interest over decades being dominated by males.. same can be said for many women dominated fields.. not if you want to talk about major issues that are ignored you can bring up homophobia which is much bigger problem. but everyone is afraid to tackle that one.

uh no. sexism isn't the issue at hand. its just the few women who are interested in the sport do so because they know they will be treated as token women for the pc brigade. theres another bird that started working for bbc sport, comes out with na article once a year about the outrage under representation of women in men's football and shes earned her keep. people screaming sexism at this just dont have a clue, it's like people who criticize israel murderous foreign policy get called "antisemitic" at the drop of a hat. it would be like complaining that its sexist that a man isn't president of the womens instutute.

Redknapp is a rare exception. In terms of Pardrew i'm thinking about the higher reaches of the Prem. Granted he's done well this season but it's been a while since they've been up there in the Champions League race.

Taking a woman as manager would be like plucking a manager from amateur football to run a premiership club. It'd never happen.

Women's football has such a low profile - and is so bad - that the candidates for any job would have to be exceptionally terrible for a woman to be considered.

It's not impossible, but it would probably have to be a woman who has earned respect within a club as a coach, who is then appointed caretaker boss, and does a good job.

I saw the bit about Charlotte Oatley (or whatever her name is), saying she got so much abuse for being the first female football comment8or.
