Record Watch 2012/13

by Franchise FC » 21 Aug 2012 20:40

Time to start worrying about the 13 and 106 again.

I'll update regularly (although outside the PL the 13'ers are reducing rapidly already)

The 13'ers
Premier League (1 game is not really enough) Fulham, Swansea, West Brom, Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle & West Ham
Championship - Blackpool plus Hull (who have only played 1)
League 1 - Tranmere, Doncaster & Notts County
League 2 - Oxford, Gillingham & Accrington

The 106'ers
92 of them

The minimum number of games to acheive 106 points is 36 (35 wins and 1 draw) so you won't be able to rule anyone out of the 106 club til after game 11 at the earliest, and even then only if they have 0 points after those 11 games!

Looks like Oxford are going to break our points record if their form continues.

Well, each prem team can only get 114 points so that's still 35 wins and 2 draws to beat our total. They can afford to throw one game away.

Im going to stick my neck out and say a perm team will not beat this record this season.

Only 8 clubs out of 60-odd have won their first 2?

Just makes you realise how difficult it is to set a record like that...

Yeah, I love this annual worry. the 13er is very unlikely to go. When you consider the record for wins in a row at any time is 14, the chances of someone beating 13 at the start is pretty slim.

As for the 106, thats not so watertight. We only beat the old record by 1. Im panicking already!

The 13'ers
Premier League - Everton, Swansea, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle (and at least one of those last two will drop out later this evening)
Championship - Blackpool
League 2 - Oxford, Gillingham

The 106'ers
92 of them (although had we played and lost today we would have been the first team unable to beat it)

All safe on the 13'ers front 8)

Apart from the PL, we'll have to wait a few weeks to see movement on the 106'ers

And the first one falls - Barnet - they can only get 105 even if Edgar turns them around sensationally

About time for an update on the 106er's

Premier League:
None (they do only play for 114 points to start with)

Championship :
Cardiff, Hull, Palace, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Millwall, Watford
Of these, Millwall and Watford have to win the rest to reach 106
Cardiff can currently get 116

League One :
Tranmere, Brentford, Sheff Utd, Doncaster, Swindon, MK Dons, Stevenage, Notts County, Bournemouth, Crawley
Of these, Notts County, Bournemouth and Crawley have to win the rest to beat 106
Brentford can currently get 113

League Two :
Gillingham, Port Vale, Cheltenham, Southend, Rotherham, Bradford, Exeter
Exeter need to win the rest to match 106 - Bradford can afford a draw and still match 106
Gillingham can currently get 117

I'll leave it another couple of months for the next update.
