.. not certain, cos I'm 'hignorant' of all NL things north of Brum :? - but as per the recent posts on the NL thread, where FA Cup ties have been mentioned, the lowest still in would be Aylesbury formerly Aylesbury Vale, formerly Haywood Utd - currently in Southern South Midland Premier.
This division is referred to as being at STEP05 (where the Conference National is STEP01 of the Non-League Pyramid) and would be on a par with Reading Town.
As far as I can work out no current SSML club (since its foundation out of a merger of the Spartan and South Mids leagues sometime in the mid-90s) has ever progressed further than the 3rd Qualifying Round - so Aylesbury have already made a bit of History.

They are sitting pretty in 4th place in the SSMP, with a mass of games in hand over the leading three. They have played (I think) 8 FA Cup Ties to get this far:-

Extra Prelim W6-0 A v Langford
Prelim D0-0 A v Leighton
Prelim replay W1-0 H v Leighton
Ist Qualifying D3-3 A v Erith Town
Ist Qualifying replay W2-1 H v Erith Town
2nd Qualifying D2-2 A v Wingate & Finchley
2nd Qualifying replay W2-1 H v Wingate & Finchley
3rd Qualifying W4-3 H v Chesham
4th Qualifying H v Wealdstone

Correct me if i'm wrong but there's something telling me in the back of my head that Aylesbury were in the first round in the late 90's/early 00's or something.

Have they folded and been resurected?

Different club - you're thinking of Aylesbury United. They're known as The Ducks, and had that goal celebration where the team walked along in a line on their knees.

That'll explain it then. Actually remember that celebration, genius stuff.

What he said: Aylesbury United are a different club with a much longer and honourable tradition - were founded in 1897.
Reached the 3rd Round proper in 94-5 - lost 4-0 @ QPR - even got as high as the Conference for one heady season in 1988-89 season.
Played a much publicized friendly vs England at their old Buckingham Rd ground in 1988 - just before the Euro Final - had the splendidly named Clifford Hercules up front - was the record attendance for them at that particular ground (6,000)

Had Craig 'Dan the Man' Maskell as their Asst. Manager too in 2004.

Have recently fallen on hard-times. Got booted off their ground about 5 years back and been lodging (not too happily) at Chesham but now have relocated to Leighton Buzzard - don't think there's much prospect of a move back to Aylesbury - though I'm sure I saw some plans of a new complex a year or so back.
Got an idea funding is the real issue - they are potless - and have been on the point of folding at seasons' start for a while now.
They are suffering badly on the field too - last nights' win at Beaconsfield brought their first points of the season.
Yup they finally broke their Du** - sorry! :P

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unlike their 'smaller' namesakes who seem to have a found a rich backer. Ironically, I think many 'Ducks' players jumped ship after 08/09 and are now signed on at Aylesbury.
They play at a querky little ground off the A41 (Bicester Rd) - on the very northern edge of the town. Their previous name 'Haywood Utd' came from the road their ground is located on - seriously cramped for parking should they draw a big crowd - i.e. three figures is a BIG crowd for them - heaven only knows how they got 448 in for the game vs Chesham last Saturday!
Their record attendance up until this season was 250 - against .... the Ducks!
Someone on another mailing list In one of those wonderful quirks, Barrow will play Chester City in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, Steven Vaughan will be looking forwards to this one, as both sides of supporters will hate him.
I am more excited about these fixtures than our own. :|
Whilst I am fast falling out of love with football, the FA Cup always reminds me of how great a game it was.
Until after the 3rd round proper that is....
As I recall wasn't it Aylesbury United who beat Reading 2-0 in the B&B Cup Final about 9 years ago? Reading's side started with 10 of Burn's signings....
