Rosenior on Trial at Bristol City
Fri 23rd Jul 2010 14:37

Former Town loanee Liam Rosenior is on trial at his former club Bristol City. The right-back was released by Reading at the end of the season and wasn’t offered a permanent deal by the Blues at the end of his year at Portman Road.

City boss Steve Coppell says Rosenior is a player he has worked with before: "It's a trial as such although obviously I know about Liam from Reading. It's actually a two-way trial; we're looking at him as an out-of-contract player and he's looking for a club.

"I know Liam believes there are some Premier League clubs looking at him and he needs to be playing games for fitness. We're looking for players, so it's a mutually-beneficial arrangement."

Think Liam needs to get off the methadone... its obviously having effects in his thinking, given that he thinks prem clubs are still after him..... :?

Rosenior has now done a u-turn and apparently walked out on Bristol City just ahead of the friendly at Aldershot he was due to appear in this afternoon. Not gone down well in Bristol because he left first time around under a cloud.

Sounds like another club have come in for him with a firm contract offer.

Thinks he can do better. Considering Coppell stuck his becoming in bringing him in (Liam is not popular with certain people ) to just throw it back in his face.

About as unlikeable and delusionable as u can get.

Apparently didn't have a great relationship with Coppell by the end of their time at Reading so I'd be surprised if he genuinely did end up at Bristol. Coppell's a decent enough bloke to allow him to train there regardless and give him another chance as a half decent free option though.

What direct relevance does this have to Reading FC?

If you're going to be picky about it I'd suggest that the potential strengths or weaknesses of teams we'll be facing might have a certain relevance to Reading FC.

But does it really matter that much in any case? There's far worst topics of discussion in this forum regularly.

Rumour on the Bristol City boards is Wigan have come in for him. Sounds possible and if so would explain the Premier interest and why he dropped City like a steaming turd the moment a better offer came up.

If we look after our own house and respective strengths and weaknesses, one would be tempted to argue it's largely irrelevant what other teams do

Well, if he has engineered a move to a Prem club then good luck to him and a massive lol at certain posters.

Strong rumours down Ashton way that SSC is not a happy man. Things clearly not going to plan. Can't imagine he is used to players like Rosenior snubbing him like that. There must be shed loads of pressure coming from the Brizzle fans who will assume they will 'do a Reading'. Can see them competing with Cardiff, Leeds and Leicester as the flops of the season.

A Brizzle Cizzle fan at work has indic8ed that, in general, the fans know that they'll have to be patient. After all, 'doing a Reading' took Reading 3 seasons.

They should have to put up with the Brooker's, Morgan's and Owusu's of this world before being able to 'Do A Reading'

It's only fair
