I have just found the link.... apparently to Raith Rovers, this makes no sense to me at all. they haven't said whether it is on loan or permanent. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/f ... ing-boost/

Sutekh Loan I would imagine.

I just dont understand why they would, you would think he would be considered a squad player now, to send him out again would not make sense....

Just been to the club to get seat sorted and have reason to believe a signing is happening today. I'm not ITK by any stretch.

Gravenberch
Van der Berg
Mendes
Jaaskolt(sp?)
Swift?
Campi?
Beerens?

I think numbers wise that's plenty. Especially if there were issues last year with too big a squad - players feeling left out - and we want to give the Academy graduates a good go.

We don't want a whole new XI every season. It's not necessarily the right blend of what we need. None of those confirmed so far stand out as great, but none appear immediately awful either... biggest question mark would seem to be Mendes.

I think the problem last year was not that the squad was too big, but a big chunk of the squad were on loan & had no future at the club after May. No loan signings so far this year (if we sign Campi permanently which is being reported) so looks like the Club has learnt from last seasons mistakes.

I may have misunderstood, but I thought there was something from Tiger / Stam that said the squad had been too big.

Loanees was deffo a problem too. But we had several senior players at a time that weren't in a squad.

I think you misunderstand everything when it comes to football unfortunately.

It is going to be interesting how far this goes if we get Roy, Swift and the argentine lad that's 6 signed already, it doesn't look to be slowing down either. it will be amazing to see how far the 5 million from Tshibola goes. I think their may still be another striker to come in and a l/rb to help with cover in that position but we must be close to full now.

Apparently this Raith thing is a load of completely made up b****x by some incompetent somewhere...

Charles Watts Tariqe Fosu has been caught up in a bizarre story involving Raith Rovers.

It has been reported north of the border that the Reading FC youngster has been on trial with the Scottish Championship club - with a view to a possible move.

The Scottish media have even claimed that Fosu played in a friendly against Patrick Thistle last week.

But getreading understands that is not the case and the 20-year-old has not in fact ever even heard of Raith Rovers.

He has simply been at Reading trying to force his way into Jaap Stam’s plans ahead of the new Championship season.

Fosu - who has not travelled to Holland for the club’s training camp - scored two goals in the 5-0 win at Boreham Wood last Saturday.

He is due to feature against Lincoln City this week as part of Martin Kuhl’s Under-21s side, providing he shakes of a groin injury.

Although this window is shaping up a bit like last summer, Stam appears to have identified and is looking to address the holes in the squad and has a definitive formation in mind. A keeper, a CB, a defensive midfielder and a big striker, all signings to strengthen the spine of the team. Swift and Beeren should hopefully give us more creativity and goal scoring threat out wide and if Carpi, joins we have a ball playing centre back.

If I was being greedy, I'd like to see more full back cover, especially with Gunter's future uncertain but it's shaping up to be a positive window. If I was Williams and McCleary, I'd be worried.

They won't be dancing in the streets of Raith tonight then.

Charles Watts suggesting that something else is afoot.

Got another little transfer tale coming today - #readingfc certainly not done for the summer yet.

Nothing really cooking in the rumours here. Anyone any ideas?

Probs Coker. If it was anything exciting, you would think he'd announce it as quick as he could; before others.

No CW said Beerens nearing completion, he says this 'tale' is someone else.

Hopefully it's a defender.
