A player transfer has four stakeholders - the selling club, the buying club, the player, and the player's agent. Just because we are not saying anything doesn't mean the other stakeholders can't

Tbf I didn’t think about that. Someone on Twitter is linking us to Dennis Adeniran.

Bit of noise about this chap again today. Contract offered apparently

Don’t know much of him but fits the profile of what we need. DCM. Champ and L1 experience

Seems to to have played regularly for Wycombe and sheff weds but then missed big chunks - presuming injuries

Hopefully not recently for Wycombe... the epitome of anti-football when I saw them last season.

Good scoring rate for a DM that doesn't play a lot. Maybe a touch light on interceptions but seems to like a tackle.

Promising.

Apparently, the mystery player who played against Wimbledon was Zuriel Otesh-Taino.

And linked with interest in Luke Amos, out of contract at QPR. Once seen as a promising central midfielder when on the books of Tottenham, he would probably be a decent player at League 1 level.

People like him, Adeniran and Fornah are sensible targets that we should be interested in, but this should have been the case since May and not a process starting in mid-July.

I'd imagine a lot of this has been on the cards since May but its only now we're able to make moves.

This.

It feels like we are starting to see the fruits of the recruitment team labour.

Yeah 3 of exactly the type of player we should be looking at. Be great to get a couple of them over the line

Fornah would require a fee to join permanently, unless Forest agree to mutually terminate his contract early, given that the fee would likely be £1m+ presume Reading would look to try another loan deal and then sign him on a free next summer when his Forest deal expires.

Fornah I like, would bring sone decent energy and urgency into midfield.

Amos would certainly seem to be a fairly decent acquisition if he joins, but of course any signing is an unknown, whoever they are, you just have to hope you've given yourself the best chance.

No way are we paying £1m for Fornah. Have to be a small fee. Unless a championship club buys him I don't see Forest getting that much.

Are we now allowed to pay a fee for a player?

We are. I can't imagine we can pay much, and generally L1 signings are frees across the board.

That’s pretty positive and I agree that most League One signings are generally frees.

I hope we have turned the corner as a club but obviously not convinced.

I can't see us spending over £500k this summer at best. Amos and Fornah would probably do well at this level to be fair, providing both can keep fit and be consistent but they should stand a much better chance here than anywhere else.

Assuming the 3 midfielders we have been linked with come off, the position looks far healthier then. You could maybe argue one more in that slot as well which would give us enough then.

Really want a pacey central defender/DM in, preferably one that's not used to losing week in and week out.

A pacey AM/striker would be good too but certainly need a load of creativity as sick of watching game after game after game where even an attempt on goal is a rarity.

Think a lot of that last season came down to style of play. Being more expansive and possession heavy against weaker opposition than last season could easily see the likes of Fornah, Knibbs, a young player like Camara and dare I even say Ejaria thrive.
