Royal_jimmy It'll be Cotterill. How depressing would that be.

Not especially. He’s a half decent manager

He's shit. What's he ever achieved? Just one promotion with Bristol City in 2015. Sacked by a club smaller than us recently as well.

Resigned from Shrews, to be correct. He’s also won promotion 4 times as a manager, not once.

He’s also had nearly 900 games as a manager with a win% a smidge under 40%.

For comparison, Steve Coppell has just over 1,000 games in management with a very similar win%

He also has won this division with a club of similar size by a canter.

I wouldn’t be very enthusiastic about Cotteril but that’s more down to him as an individual being pretty bland than his past experience

Wilder would be a fantastic appointment and we don’t know what’s going on, I may be wrong, I hope so but I’m pretty accepting of the fact he won’t be our new manager.

Him aside, we are a league one side in. A period of flux and yes we aren’t an unattractive proposition but again not the most appealing option to many so we can’t expect anyone amazing, anyone who is not an unknown gamble would be nice

No, please guys no. You've started to make a case for Steve Cotterill being our manager.

It's the managerial appointment equivalent of Tommy Burns buying Keith Scott "because he knows the division".

Better than some inexperienced waste of space from Kia's little black book that'll be gone by Xmas.

Now that the deal for Chris turned out to be imaginary, who is the next bookies favourite?

This was nearly a decade ago though.

He has done pretty well with Shrewsbury up until those last 10 games, but surely we want to be aiming a little bit higher than that? He's ok, but not someone I'd be wanting in an ideal world. Then again, we haven't been living remotely close to an ideal world for the best part of 10 years ourselves.

I literally don't care who the new manager is at this point - I reserve the right to change my mind if we make a call on a random with no track record - but I would just like to see someone appointed so that they can actually plan for the season. I have zero expectation of a promotion challenge but we don't want to find ourselves so far behind in planning that we end up in yet another relegation battle.

So yeah, Wilder, Cotterill, Cowley, O'Shea, Warburton even Andy Carroll will do me as long as recruitment can start, under whatever restrictions we may find ourselves, and we can start looking forward to some actual football to moan about.

If we do end up not being able to pay fees again, I'm almost fine with that as if we aren't as restricted on wages we should still be able to bring in decent free agents as long as we can start soon before the best options are long gone.

Winston Biscuit Schrödinger's manager

He's done a good job in Bundesliga 3 on a tight budget. Worth a shot.

The only remote positive I can see is that WB will get to call him Ruben or even Rubie.

The only positive I can see is that it will upset our resident racist forum member.

Absulutely any evidence of this because he's signed to EMG Mundial who are an agency based in Berlin.

The same EMG Mundial that was bought out by Sports Invest Ltd last year?

Whoever his agent is, I don't want another nobody manager at the club with NO EXPERIENCE in the football league.

Yes, a manager who actually has experience in league one.
