Speculation - Dirk Kuyt

by Dick Habbin's hairdo » 02 Jun 2012 08:29

Amazed no-one has chucked the Dutchman's hat in the ring to join us. Great wideman, tireless worker, team player, seems like a jolly decent chap. Unwanted and unloved at Liverpool - although that may change with Big Watch. Ticks all Maccy D's boxes.

After the Feynoord friendly a few years back my mate bumped into him in Bar Risa (as it was back then) smashed out his head. Posed for a photo and was friendly enough.

Doesnt really add anything but still worth mentioning I thought.

Dirk is a great name. I want to name my first born son Dirk.

I love this man. I once saw an interview with him and Gerrard. Dirk started talking with a slightly accented English and I could understand him thoroughly. Stevie G starts talking and I could Onky pick up every third world he was saying...

I really like him as a player. But he doesn't suit our style of wingman in the slightest.

I don't really see him as a winger. I appreciate that Liverpool often played him wide last season, but only because they didn't know what they were doing.
Could be a good option, playing just off the main striker but only if other irons in the fire come to nothing.

I would cream in my pants if we got him. As has been said, a great striker with fantastic work rate. Fits the Reading mold perfectly.

Bought as a megabucks striker and failed. Tried on the wing, and is a little bit rubbish but tries really hard and scores more goals now. Constantly kept out of the team by new signings, but it never takes long for the manager to realise he's better than the ones who were meant to replace him.

I just can't quite make him out, but Liverpool would be mad to let him go, but he must be way out of our league.

All the Man Utd fans I work worth say that Kuyt is the one player at Liverpool they would bite Fergie's hand off to sign. He's a 21st century Peter Beardsley, the craft and graft behind a much more prolific partner

Fantastic player and I reckon we would be a long way down the queue if he was available.

Scores more goals now? He got two league goals last season after getting around a dozen in all his other Liverpool seasons bar the second where he got 3.

I wouldn't say he failed a forward, they just changed the way they player and failed to sign a decent right winger.

I think he's got a decent record in the big games, and specifically against United. I wouldn't put him down as similar to Beardsley mind, I've always thought of him as a modern day Mark Hughes though.

I think he does a great job and would be an excellent signing. Can't see us having a chance of getting him though.
