IdealRoyal Lady Looking for a clio/saxo/corsa
Better look for a Polo or Yaris instead, the french ones you mentioned are absolutely horrendous quality and will continually need repairs. Buy a Yaris and you can go on and on forever with no repairs.

Ideal £3500??
Royal Lady, is there no way you can register the car on yourself, and insure it on yourself?
Paying £3500 for insurance is hopeless, why could you not do your son a favour and register it in your name?
Then you can buy him a safer more modern car.

I pay £4000 and the car was £1350. Just the norm nowadays but hopefully a years no claims makes it atleast 2k cheaper.
Rl is 1.4 to big?

I'd have to check if the insurance goes up much higher on a 1.4 - thanks Lowerwestjr
Ideal - as Svlad has already said, it's against the law - and working in the insurance industry - the last thing we want to do is break the law and get caught - so he'll have to pay the going rate I'm afraid.

Ideal Well I'm sorry, it's not a crime in Norway, nor is it borderline illegal in any way. You simply have to declare that there will be drivers under the age of 23 driving the vehicle, then you pay a little bit more, but it's still cheap.
I had no idea you English kick up such a big fuss about it, what a complete ripoff.
In Norway you can also register your car 50/50 on two people, so you could have yourself and your son co-own it.
