Deadlock
Dirk Gently Not saying this is the holdup, just that there is now a lot more paperwork to be done before a transfer is confirmed.
He'll need international clearance as well, not sure how complex that is or how long it takes.

Nope. Any EU player can work in any EU country.

Yep - your registration is with a national FA - until this is transferred he's not clear to play in another FA's jurisdiction.

You're thinking of work permits, which are a completely different thing.

Bet if any of the Big Four had done it they would not have been treated like Bury and Wimbledon.

"Absolutely. This isn't the end by any stretch of the imagination. But I'm not going to tell you any names."

Sounds very promising 8) Tomorrow is going to be exciting...

Was listening to an interview on BBCRB of Bennett, and he seemed very pleased with coming to Reading, sounded like he couldn't believe he was here.

Also said he is very close to Doyler so shouldn't take him much time to settle in.

Sky Sports News are just reporting we've signed Alan Bennett.

"We don't know any more at the moment, but we are just getting news that Alan Bennett will be joining Reading from Cork City"

Good to see them on the button with the news.

Whats better news is that for a company that knows very little news on the subject they have a photo of JM and Bennett from yesterdays press conference as the main picture on the home page of their own website!
