Overcharging For Man Utd tickets

by boyal royal » 19 Feb 2007 12:48

If you are buying tickets for your kids check the price as they charged me £16 for my 8 year old when it should be £11. Looking forward to my 1 hour wait on the phone to rectify it!! :(

Same happened to me (overcharged £5 for my five year old) but got it fixed this morning on the phone when I got my tickets for the Arse.

Check your points as well...the Man U game is listed as a Gold game which is supposed to mean 10 loyalty/royalty points, but I only got credited with 5. I can't be arsed to speak to someone, so I sent an email instead - waiting to hear.

They said somewhere it'll only be 5.

I think ManU are being overcharged. Tickets for them are £36, ie non member prices. IIRC we usually extend the ST prices to away clubs in other games. Why not this one?

If that's the case then the club are being very very naughty.

Official Site Points can be earned for attending matches on the following basis in 2006/7:

195 points for a season ticket
5 points for a Member Card
5 points for a platinum game booking*
10 points for a gold game booking*
15 points for a silver game booking*
5 points for an away game booking through the RFC ticket office*

*These points are minimums and on occasions may be raised.

MINIMUMS, meaning that the minimum for a gold game is 10 and could be more... not less.

The club only said it would be PRICED as a gold category match, not that it would actually BE one, didn't it? Those categories are for league games, aren't they?

p.s. i haven't actually checked thisas can't be arsed to, but I surmise this is true

They are arguing that it is a Platinum game but for which they are charging Gold prices.

It could be worse of course. Could be charging for a Platinum as well.

Would be hilarious if you missed out on a future away/cup game due to being 5 points short. These things, while sounding petty, could prove quite useful at some point, and if I've paid my money, I want what I've paid for. Pathetic maybe, but I'd rather have them than not.

Agreed. The extra 5 points I got from buying a Man U ticket, took me into the next band (the one for today) of Arsenal tickets. It looks like they will all go today as well, so I have been lucky this time.

You'd rather pay £36 and get 5 royalty points, than pay £32 and get 5 royalty points?

Okey cokey.

Quite how you worked that out from what I wrote I don't know.

I'd rather pay £32 (as is the price for a gold game) and get 10 royalty points (as is the going rate for a gold game).

Anyway, I notice on the official site that they have now changed the original article to state that both clubs have agreed to discount this game, so I guess the discussion becomes redundant as it is a discounted platinum rather than a gold game.

Meh. Whatever.

That is an "oversight" on the part of the Man Utd ticket office. They have apparently agreed to refund the extra £4 charged to anyone who has purchased a ticket.

Indeed. Just as I posted originally, but you ignored.

Meh, whatever.
