Have I made a big mistake?

by Half Horse » 24 Jul 2007 22:36

Didn't renew my season ticket - pissed off with trying to find somewhere to park, queueing for a beer and a pie, surrounded by people who were moaning at Kitson after 10 minutes against Middlesborough and probably hadn't been to many football matches.

Exasperated that Man U/Liverpool/Chelsea fans found their way into the North Stand and sad (but not surprised) that the Prem contained so many cheats and divers.

So this season I'm going to pick and choose (hopefully) the games I go to and not be committed to going to every game.

Have I got it wrong?

On the bright side, being an ex ST holder now not one means you'll have probably accumulated enough points to probably get into the top points catergory when it comes to the purchasing of tickets on a game by game basis, meaning you can pick and choose games as you wish. If you go to all the home games though and end up paying extra then that's your problem.

Chances are when you do go you'll have to sit on the South Stand, so yes, you have :(

Ask Shards, he seems to be the expert on these matters.

PS. Don't even mention that we might need a bigger stadium.

A friend of mine and his kid got two tickets together for every home game except one last season and the one they missed was though choice.

The important thing is to buy tickets online as soon as you have the points required and also be aware that the points requirements go up during the season, So if you were planning to just buy tickets for the last few games you may have a problem.

If your really really stuck, write to the Evening Post claiming to be a 25 year old loyal Royals fan who has followed Reading for 30 years but have not had a chance to attend a game for 20 of those as you chose to migrate to Australia because Reading is a dump... They should russle you up some free tickets to all the big games with champagne hospitality and possibly even a private jet to get you there and back to Aus.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I do a little work for our town's premier newspaper so would probably be rumbled fairly quickly and it's extremely unlikely I could be mistaken for 25 - nice idea though.

As long as you have over 751 points not a problem you'll get a ticket everytime and you will pay lots of 34p's a minute ringing for tickets! The club loves people like you

I think he means he spends his time cultivating his love for trees.

Then again it could be that he means he watches the games on TV.

No, I think you probably made the right decision. I'm going to give it one more season. Unless we get relegated this season I won't be renewing. The Championship was so much better.

Having been on holiday, we missed this little gem from Woodcote. Sad beyond belief really. FYI we have our season tickets and our tickets for Old Trafford.
