Not sure if it's going to be any good, but Virgin Media Sports channel is starting to ramp up - they've got Internet rights in the new media package.

An example of what they have so far seems to be here - they're doing football "news" bulletins several times a day : http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/latestshow/

Looks pretty slick and I believe it'll be subscription free.

As mentioned elsewhere, they are also launching a 24 hour news channel in cahoots with Setanta. You can watch matches and highlights from a huge amount of leagues via their website
