Ooh, perhaps we should expand the stadium.

I was about to do a post on Team board spotting we had broken the attendance record (previously 24122 vs Aston Villa, February 2007) fortunately have avoided a sound Dodding.

33-042, still a way to go, I think we should fecking go for it. Empty football ground cant be worse than all the empty offices around the town/CITY.

Interesting that yesterday attracted more fans with us 'playing shite' than last year when it was all a novelty.

Noticed that there were large sections of the upper west by the south stand had empty seats

all of the (usually) empty seats in the N.stand filled with (local) Man U fans yesterday

No problem with that...they all seemed respectful

More amazed with our own "fans" who seemed to think that the game had finished when the referee blew his whistle for Ronaldo's goal :?

...and of course, they subsequently left without showing their appreciation..............doh :!:

Old ground, "I'm a better fan because I stayed to clap the players etc", if anything it was a pleasant surprise to see the East Stand still virtually full when Ronaldo made the run for United's 2nd.

ironically, I wasn't having a go at the "old suspect" early leavers.

Some (obviously non-regular) folk genuinely seemed to think that the ref had blown for full-time when Ronaldo raised his arms having just rattled our net.

Very annoying nonetheless

I think it is because the Reading FC sales centre has finally become efficient at selling almost all the available seats. Last season they seemed to hold block of seats back for no known reason.

Didn't last season's equivalent game have a Sky box in the away end, thus reducing the paying attendance?

Correct, was a 5.15pm pay-per-view game and had a sky box in the away end.

Exactly, we must expand the stadium. And ignore fools like Schards who keep on wittering about demand.

Eh?

You want to expand the stadium because you like an empty stadium? :|

I did say on some thread that there would be some brain donors backing the expansion on the back of the Man Utd attendance. Surely you're not falling into that category are you Spacey?

And yet you continue to use the attendance of the Spurs FA cup game as a reason not to expand

Interesting to note that the PA team did not announce it as a new attendance record in-front of the ManU fans!
