Pre Match Standing

by The 17 Bus » 26 Feb 2008 08:42

Not really sure but is it allowed to stand at your seat pre match?? If so why do so few of the singers do this, at EP and old grounds the atmoshphere was started well before kick off, would this help with the support that JM bemoanss is missing??

If so should it be re introduced ?

Many factors here. On a terrace, especially for a big game, it was essential to get there early to ensure a good spec. With allocated seats there are no such worries. The concourse in the East Stand is still pretty full 10 mins before kick off.

Also, personally, I stay in the concourse until the last nano-second before kick off just so i can avoid the aural assault from the idiot with the microphone.

Mind be something to do with the fact that they'll get thrown out by the over-zealous tango brigade if they stand during the game

They stand before the game and during half time as they will be forced to sit whilst the game happens

HTH

if you allowed smoking and drinking beer in the seats then maybe everyone wouldn't stay down on the concourse until 2.55.

I had a blazing row with an idiot steward a couple of seasons back who insisted that my kids and their friends were breaching ground regulations for standing in front of their seats before the kickoff! He even pointed to the CCTV, told them that they were being watched and that the control room would order that they be ejected!! He seemed incapable of answering what was going to be done about the many other hundreds of fans who were also stood up at the time, let alone the thousands of fans who persistently stood at half-time. Only when I insisted that he invited Clive Doyle over to join in our argument did he slink back into a hole never to be seen again in our area.
