Best atmosphere

by Blue_White_Blood » 02 Mar 2008 13:34

hey eveyone just writing on here because i am a die hard Reading fan and always will be. did you know my fellow royals that we as fans and the second quietest in the leauge just above fulham fans.....but i feel we should be higher amongst fan rating!!!! we all need to come together and back the boys with the situation we are in.
to me there is no better way than doing that than singing your heart out for the team and coppell. we need to let them know we are behind no matter what.

i sit in the north stand near the drummer and everyweek i sing my heart for the team and i always notive so many sitting there not even opening there mouth. i could understand if it was the west stand but it is not it is the north stand and alsong with the east we need to come together and be as loud as we can to create the atmosphere.

there are so many ways we can do this!!!

i wrote to STAR and told them excatly wat im saying on here,

do you remember when the whole stand held the blue and white plastic cards up and it created the famous blue and white hoops? well i think we should do that every match as it creates the atmosphere it gets poeple on the egde of there seats because every body is taken part.

also i think the north stand should get a massive flag made and when i mean massive i mean take up a whole stand or maybe half of one before kick off. i sy this because if you look at european clubs they do this and the atmosphere is the ebst atmosphere ther is. i think we should try and if it doesnt work then it didnt work if it does how ever then it will change readingfc for a long time.....

so royals all i am asking is you support me on this and lets take reding fc where it belongs and never look back....

Perhaps we can all agree on a new club song to sing and then like sing it really loud.

I'd go for tra la la la la, clap clap clap.

It is true Blue_White_Blood did write with these suggestions and much as I want to encourage anything to help the atmosphere the blue and white hoops are a nightmare to contemplate often both financially and in volunteer time. It took 30 people over 2 hours to put all those blue and white sheets out and much as I enjoyed doing it, and even more the result, I am not queueing up to do week in week out.

Besides to be effective we need new ideas rather than repeat ones as they lose their effectiveness, for instance the 13 flag does not seem to change the atmosphere is it did initially.

Ideas have to be easy and cheap so that if they are not effective it is no real loss and as anyone reading this board for long must not be prescriptive as many Reading fans are inclined to do the opposite just because they do not want to be told what they should do.

So keep the ideas coming but I'm afraid I don't think the first idea is workable but maybe others think differently so please let us know.

I think we should hand out chant cards to the fans of some of the basic chants it might sound laughable but it will probably help

As there are no smilies in your post I will take it seriously and ask if you remember the flak that Kevan took when he organised that very thing a few seasons ago? The only thing that unified some people was telling him he got the words wrong - but there were usually several 'right' versions :?

When you support a club that has a relatively affluent fan base, a high proportion of "johnny come lately" supporters, expensive admission prices and that operates a fascist stewarding policy, you really aren't going to get an atmosphere akin to Borussia Dortmund every week.

My hands bled from the elastic bands and then I struggled to stick two fingers up at the QPR players because my hands were stiff.

Really? I thought we were one of the loudest on the survey I seen. What scientifically based survey are you referring to?

Blue_White_Blood we need to let them know we are behind no matter what.

We've already done this by buying a season ticket and turning up every match to watch them run around chasing the ball.

Blue_White_Blood we need to come together and be as loud as we can to create the atmosphere. there are so many ways we can do this!!!

Are you John Madejski by any chance?

Blue_White_Blood well i think we should do that every match as it creates the atmosphere it gets poeple on the egde of there seats because every body is taken part.

Yeaaaaa, bring it on?!

Blue_White_Blood also i think the north stand should get a massive flag made and when i mean massive i mean take up a whole stand or maybe half of one before kick off. i sy this because if you look at european clubs they do this and the atmosphere is the ebst atmosphere ther is. i think we should try and if it doesnt work then it didnt work if it does how ever then it will change readingfc for a long time.....

Yea, a big flag will help the atmosphere won't it. I think that the atmosphere that some European clubs have comes from a little more than just having a big flag.

What we need to do it lower the Thames Valley area local economy- sack a few 1000 IT workers, the knock on effect should do the trick. Then get rid of most of the seating at Madejski Stadium so that there’s loads of a terraces. Half the admission price, get rid of stewards all together, and ban women and children.
