Entry to Jazz Cafe

by rotherwick_royal » 06 Mar 2008 13:03

I'm planning on meeting up with a mate who's a Man City fan before this weekend's game for a drink (he's got a ticket for the away end before you ask!).

Never been in the Jazz Cafe, is that an option? Do you need RFC membership, or would they take exception to an away fan trying to get in?

As far as I'm aware, any Reading STH can gain entry and also take one guest with them. So I would think there wouldn't be a problem with your Citeh mate getting in (unless he was wearing his Citeh shirt and jumped onto the bar to give a rendition of "Blue Moon").

Season ticket holders only on match days.

Sorry.

When we played Wigan earlier this season , my Wigan supporting Pal and his boy, got into the Jazz as guests of mine and one of my mates.

Best bet on the day is to ask one of the chaps on the door of the Jazz wether they can get in with you before you start to que up.

But, strictly no away shirts etc.

Thanks for the replies. I'm an STH so I might try and get him in. No other option close to the ground really is there.

Had a few away fans join us in there before - it's fine as long as they don't wear colours. If you get there before 12.30 then there probably won't be anyone on the door anyway.

Not supposed to get in but I've never had any problems before provided you get there early enough. Incidentally, I've taken 5 Ipswich fans in there in the past...although admittedly that was Championship days.

I can recommend the swan in three mile cross as its my dads local and is a friendly place for a drink to be honest. Oh and the food is of a good standard too. Otherwise you have got the world upside down on the basingstoke road or the holiday inn near woton grange

It's all about getting the Nags Head or Prince of Wales bus to the ground.

The Swan is on my way so I could go there. Want to get to the ground early though so I can get a space in the Costco car park
