What annoyed me most about the Gillette Way thing
(other than the fact I copped a ticket in a space I've been using for 3-4 years
) was the 'stealth' tactics the Council appeared to use.
A few months
before the 'new' restrictions came into force, they extended the Double Yellows at the junction of Gillette Way/Manor Farm Rd by a few metres - making more people park further back towards Morrisons. Cars started parking right up as far as Rose Kiln Lane and on the grass verges on the other side of the road from the Bingo. That's where you could find a space between what appeared to be an Articulated Lorry Dormitory!
Indeed for a couple of evening games I had to look for spaces on Boulton Rd/Craddock Rd - wasn't sure if the PC World/JJB Sports etc Business Pk was sensible to use at night with that funny raise-able ramp thingy at the entrance.
Anywho - like someone said before re mud on the road (caused by lorries/verge parking etc etc) when the Council put single yellows all the way down it was hard to spot where the 'legal' spaces where. Whats more they somewhat 'stinted' on the signs - piddly little ones a long way apart re Mon-Sat restrictions - so I parked quite innocently one Sat PM unaware of the new signs (I think they are all on the Bingo side of the road.)
Un-PC mode ON:- I might borrow the the Father-In Laws Camper van next week park where I used to and chuck a load of my kids old toys around the road just to see if they ticket me!
What's worrying me is how long before Morrisons cotton on to their 'fuller-than-usual' Car Park and start doing something about it?
