"How shit must you be, we're winning away"

by Jerry St Clair » 12 Apr 2008 17:37

Nail firmly hit on head by the Fulham fans.

After a season of utter crap, that has to be the big shiny turd on top of the effluent cake.

To pre-empt Alan Partridge: DUMP.

Coppell's loyalty is costing us.

Really not happy after today. We could have been planning for next season right now but instead we're looking odds on for a place in the bottom three.

Looking at it I don't see anymore wins. I think we're pretty much down to be honest. All hope lost. No shred of confidence in that lot anymore.

We're just praying Bolton, Birmingham and Fulham keep losing, in fact, that's our only hope.

Dump!!

That's Fulham's 3rd away win in nearly 3 seasons.

Said before the game it would be shit, thankfully though Fulham gave me some football to watch.

LOL @ Reading, seriously we are RUBBISH.

Bolton 3 Reading 0
Reading 0 Bolton 2
Fulham 3 Reading 1
Reading 0 Fulham 2

Deserve to go down.

It's funny how Coppell's never come out and told us our chairman's tight-fisted. Quite the contrary in fact, he's said that he enjoys superb support from the board and didn't feel the need to strengthen at this stage.

You're even more stupid than I give you credit for if you honestly believe Coppell would have let it slide if he'd been given no money in the last two transfer windows and he honestly wanted to strengthen given the bargaining power from the fans and other clubs about taking over given where we finished last season. The buck stops at the manager, nobody else. If he really had been turned down funds, we'd have heard about it in the press from Coppell.

How anyone reasonably expected any better than this today is beyond me. Anyone who has watched RFC regularly this season has known for a long while that this is a poor squad for this level, pushed far beyond the limits of its ability. Hunt and Oster rarely got a sniff in the Championship winning team yet are regulars in this side. Oster must be very grateful about the fact that Hunt is a regular actually, for as long as Hunt plays Oster won't be the worst winger ont he pitch.

The gulf in class today - gulf in class; Fulham won only their 5th game of the season today  - was encapsulated by the ubiquitous Jimmy Bullard. Harper and Hunt should have asked for Bullard's autograph today - had they got close enough to him - because he will be a Premier League footballer next season. Harper and Hunt, it is increasingly safer to say, almost certainly won't be.

I was trying to think of a worse performance at the Madejski. There was the 0-6 v Bristol Rovers, but at least Rovers were good that day. I thought Fulham were crap, yet we only managed two efforts on goal in the entire match (and they were both off target). That must be a club record for a home game.

I'd play with our reserves next week. We have nothing to lose. And they'd play their bloddy socks off.

This is Bullard who had been out injured for 18 months. Hunt was released on a free by Brentford, his self-improvement deserves praise but his career is following a definite path - starts at the bottom, climbs towards the top. Gravity is beginning to set in now, it seems.

4 matches against Fulham and Bolton this season, 4 defeats. Aggregate score of 1-10. This team has been playing above itself for 2 years, when they decide that they want it less than their opponents they are well and truly fcuked, and that's what happened today.

.

One thing he isn't - and that's completely stupid. He clearly doesn't intend leaving his job at this moment in time, so won't be stupid enough to criticise his employer (who I suspect has quite a fragile ego) in public!!

As for the buck stopping at the manager that's crap. Reading FC is no long a sporting team it's a multi-million business and, as with any such business, the buck always stops with the Chairman. JM is just fortunate that he doesn't have any shareholders that he really has to worry about answering to!
