And i do wonder why oster played so many games

Because after playing 11 players at right wing, he was the best of a truly bad bunch as we decided to sell our only true right winger and not bring in anyone to replace him.

An absolutely astounding decision on the part of the club, that.

Rosenior would of done a better job than oster at right wing

I think he was 1 of the 11.

From what glimpses I saw of him, I wouldn't have begrudged us playing Cox out there. Once, at least, just to see if he had 'it'.

the club hasn't said that they chose to release Oster, just that eh would be departing because his contract was running out
maybe he left because he didn't want to be here even if the club wanted him stay. Imagine going into a job where you have 20,000 people who think you're rubbish at your job, not exactly want you want in a career is it?

I thought that Rosenior played well, despite having to be a right back and a right wing at the same time for most of the match, against Spurs last month when we had that 'deadly' trio of strikers and no RW. Better than Oyster in the RW role anyway.

are you real?

we offered nothing down the right wing that day

Rosie had done a reasonable for us job up until then.......but he gift wrapped the ball (complete with ribbon) too often for Spurs

Oyster had his moments..he's gone.....but we still have Rosie..........

Who's pulling the strings?

by IMAMATEOFJOVSKY » 18 May 2008 11:32

If Coppells future is still undecided, who is calling the shots on who to retain and who to release? - or is it that Coppell is still in charge?

I thought exactly the same. Coppell wouldn't make those decisions if he was leaving as that would be unfair to the next manager coming in. So i feel this is Coppell telling Mr. Madejski and Hammond who he wants to get rid of and telling him the players that he wants to buy or try to get in. We'll probably get something on Monday regarding Coppell's future though although the suspense is still killing me.

I do think that this indicates Coppell's potential desire to stay here and call the shots. The more rubbish out, the more potential for good players coming in.

Sort of.

Why did James Henry never get a chance?

I agree this is most likely suggests he's staying but mayeb one could worry that if his lovechild Oster is going then perhaps that decision is from above and it's not Coppell's decision?

Contract ran out, Oster quite happy to leave.

Doesn't need anyone elses input. If we'd wanted him, we would have sorted it earlier in the season.

He's good enough for the premiership, but not good enough to warrant a contract in the CCC.

Probably because he was asking himself the same question at Norwich and why he ended his spell at Bournemouth on the bench.

I thought it was strange, too, but then this is Reading we're talking about.

I would assume this means Coppell is staying, but why no announcement yet?

A new manager, if we are getting one, may have wanted to retain Oster for the CCC.
