Half ST's

by The 17 Bus » 01 Oct 2008 10:38

Could be the must have present this festive period, I hope the club have started thinking about when they are going to put them up for sale, I can see good demand about the end of this month, especially if there is some deal announced about renewals at the same time.

IE renewals in Jan will be at £450 regardless of division next season for current full ST holders, reward those that stayed loyal, IMHO, I am sure the club can afford to do this.

I can't see many fans, loyal or otherwise, shelling out £450 (plus another adult and two kids for me) six months early and right after Christmas. If they make me a good offer in April I might be tempted.

I'm sure there'll be a HST though.

Interesting idea. How do you see a deal to reward current full ST holders attracting new half season ticket holders?

and I doubt any season tickets will be due to renew in january. do you mean announce in october that people pay in january for an 09/10 season ticket which would be £450 no matter which of the 3 possible divisions we were in come august 09?

or is this announcement to be made in january? and again how would this be seen as attracting people to buy a half season ticket before christmas?

I dont, i got carried away with my post.

What I kinda mean it lets see the club being proactive on future sales of ST's and HST's.

They know that there are at least 4000 ex full st holders out there, who cares if they are bandwagon jumpers, get the money in asap.

Yes to the £450 regardless of division, sell early, reward the loyal fans that renewed this time.

I wouldn't want to pay £450 for League 1 football!

I'd prefer the club wait till they know a bit more, maybe march or april and then make such an announcement if it looks like we will be in the playoffs. But there would be a condition on it, those that wait to see where we end up before renewing pay more, no matter where we end up

I think we should know if we are safe by Jan really, though there is never a guarantee.

Will you be paying in instalments or just slapping the cash straight down on the counter?

Have to say I'm impressed.................thought you'd blown your head gasket at first!

What sort of price are we looking at for a half season ticket come December?

From Boxing Day onwards there are 11 homes games left.

IIRC the price of a new ST before the start of the season was £450.

So, 11/23 * 450 = £215.22

As such, I'd expect the HST to be around the £230 to £240 mark.

I would do the sums different, current pre match day prices are £23, so 23x11= £253, buy a hst, £225 is my price, so you can miss one game and just be up.

Can I also add that perhaps it is time that HST paid a bit more for a full ST the following season?? Perhaps the new ST price rather than renewal one, once again reward those that buy year in year out.

Same ball-park figure though

Don't totally agree with the second comment - perhaps a "middle ground" for HSTH's - call it an upgrade premium. E.G.: (using this seasons prices):

Full ST renewal: £425
Upgraded ST renewal: £440
New ST: £455

Or something like that...
