Bristol city away (Non hooligan thread)

I'm in. Second away match of the season.

Should be a good atmosphere.

The Away end at City is cramped to say the least. But we should be able to crank up the support for the boys.

i have been informed that the seats dont have backs to them!

i think standing up is in order

Last time I went to Ashton Gate ( BC v Cardiff) there were police in full riot gear in a line from the back of the stand to the front who not only blocked our view of the goalmouth but arrested anyone who stood up.

If you get a seat in the first 5 or 6 rows at the away end of Ashton Gate you need to stand to see the far end of the pitch. It is like an exaggerated crown green bowls surface, so the far end is in dead ground.

Remember you are crammed into the left corner of the stand, rather than the ability to sit anywhere in it like back in Div 2. My abiding memory of Brizzle City is the gauntlet run out of the away end and up the road by the park after the final whistle. That and Ricky Newman breaking a players ankle in a 50/50 challenge. Oh and lots of very high scoring games

So, we're taking the missus to Bristol, dumping her somewhere nice (not Ikea, maybe Clifton Suspesion Bridge, know what I mean?) and driving on to the ground. Bad idea? Is it better to park in the centre and get a bus, or to walk to the ground? Last time I was at Ashton Gate we were wondering whether that Senior fellah would ever be as good as Kerry, so memory's a tad hazy.

Best place to leave the other half is at the newly opened shopping centre called Cabot Circus. She will love it!

Dont park in the centre as all car parks are very expensive for more than a couple of hours. Best to drive to Ashton Gate and follow the AA signs to Football Parking. This is a fairly recently opened car park on an old industrial site. Alternatively park in Long Ashton park and ride and pay the £2 bus fare but walk tothe ground which only takes 5 mins. If you are early you can park on the roads on the Cumberland Basin interchange apart from stretches coned off by Police.

Correct! The ticket was booked on Friday I think, actually arrived this morning.

I'm on the 1027 there. Will go for a couple of bevvies when I get there, although not sure where to go.
