Sorry, KDRF, but Puma's money pit for shirt sponsorship is drying up, hence the discussions. Hummel are in a league of their own when it comes to negotiating so it's only a matter of time.

And I can assure all of you who think that this is a joke that you'll be waiting a long time for the punchline.

Despite this site being notorious for B I G red herrings, I too can confirm that I've seen the new kit - it looks fair better than the current one and it would be ludacris (sp?) to suggest otherwise.

Ludicrous. How about a simple sketch of said new kit?

One of the main things that makes me think this is cow manure is the fact that it's only November. A new kit wouldn't be needed until July/August next year, even if Puma pull out. We're not going to get a new kit mid season. When have we EVER had a kit designed this early? It's one the more frustrating things about Reading that they are always months behind any other club and we normally only see it just before the final pre-season game, and then it's worn for the first time at that game.

I require sauce. And I hope it's not runny brown sauce.

Hang on, how many times have we criticised RFC for failing to get new kits out on time? Perhaps they've finally decided to start working with sensible lead times!

Isay bring back Mizuno! IMO best quality kit and merchandise ever sold by RFC. All the Mizuno stuff that I bought back then is still in great condition. Also make great football boots, again IMO.

Our kit isn't sponsored by Puma though so this is simply a cliquey in joke....

We don't get paid by the manufacturers to wear their kit.

Kit deals work two ways

1. Smaller clubs pay the manufacturers to design and manufacture a kit and get sole distribution rights over that kit (hence the kits are only available in club shops and local sources)

2. Bigger clubs have a deal with a manufacturer where distribution rights are shared and clubs get a royalty on all sales plus a number of kits to sell through their own channels.

Bigger clubs can negotiate better royalty rates
