eddiegrundy Hang on though,if he had punched the ball clear you would have had to send him off and award a penalty kick. The fact that he was unseccessful in punching the ball clear is surely irrelevant as his intention was clear. In this instance I think you would award the goal, as you were allowing "advantage" and send him off for deliberate handball, intending to deny a clear goalscoring opportunity.

bobbybottler The laws (it's law 3) state that
"If a player changes places with the goalkeeper without the referee’s permission before the change is made:
• the referee allows play to continue
• the referee cautions the players concerned when the ball is next out of play"
