Luton Town

What happened to the club? Why are they only on 0 points after a draw which earned them A point?
Were they deducted points?
Sorry if it's been discussed elsewhere.

The financial chaos culminated in Luton Town Football Club 2020 taking over the club in 2008, and facing the brunt of what the former owners, Jayten, had done. Due to financial irregularites, Luton were docked 10 points for the 2008-09 season - and then 20 points by the Football League for exiting administration without a Company Voluntary Arrangement. Luton Town therefore started the 2008-09 campaign on -30 points

Where the fook have you been to not know the where and why and the who and the when?

There's about 3 or 4 clubs in League 2 this season who have had point deductions. None as severe as Luton though.

Believe so mate. Never seen anything like it over the past 2 seasons, but something needs to be done about how poory some clubs are run.

I do feel sorry for the Luton fans though. That is hard on them! To think they were putting a spanner in our works in our promotion season live on telly, and now staring the Conference in the face.

Ouch.

17 apiece on the latter tandem. Scroll down.

Yeah, didn't sound right to me, either. But so it be.

The 30 point deduction was a joke in all honesty. Small club gets made an example of, no change there then.

That's not the first time Luton have blown a lead this season, they can't do it if they want to have any chance of staying up. 14 points isn't impossible, if there is any justice they'll survive.

I'd love to see them get out of it, doubt it'll happen though. Would be pretty embarassing to be the team(s) that got relegated despite a 30 point head start!

Plenty of season left for Luton to pull off the epic escape.

Both Grimsby and Barnet are pretty woeful, both of them having won just once at home in eleven tries, and there's also Bournemouth just 7 points in front of them after their own deduction. Rotherham are out of sight and will be fine.

Reckon Bournmouth could just about do it but I think it's beyond Luton. But then again we've seen miracle runs from teams before so perhaps it might be Barnet and/or Grimsby departing.

Personally, for some strange reason I can't think of, I'd like to see Notts County drift into non-league.

Feel sorry for Luton, but that deduction was for two offences, one of which was the 3rd instance in about 5 years iirc?

Clubs need to be run better.

 Not the oldest team in the league?

Having been born in Nottinghamshire, I've a soft spot for Notts. I remember one year they beat us 4-2 in the cup and Maurice Evans said it was like playing Real Madrid.

I don't think anybody was feeling sorry for the Luton fans when they cheated their way out of League 1 a few seasosn back and Brentford finished 3rd (again). You won't find the supporters of many lower league teams that manage to keep to the rules feeling sorry for them.

Guess who our last home game of the season is against!

Was this the same scenario as Leicester a few seasons ago or something different?

I believe in twists of fate and dont be surprised if Luton do a great escape and in turn catch Grimsby and send them down AKA Mike Newell!

Does seem harsh on Luton, but i beleive they were spared relgation because the Conference wouldn't have them. The Conference are stricter on finances than the FL.

Have they sorted things out now? If not they face following Boston Utd.
