From the players listed on the BBC selection...

------------Buffon-----------

Alves---Vidic---Puyol---Zhirkov

-------Xavi------Senna-------

---Ronaldo---Kaka---Messi---

-------------Eto'o------------

(Would probably have Evra ahead of Zhirkov and Ashley Cole though)

Agreed - get rid of Gerrard, move Messi into the middle with Kaka, move Ribery wide left, and get a nasty aggressive piece of work in as a holding midfielder. Not sure who.

I'm not a fan of Ibrahimovic either, although I know there's plenty on here that do like him.

Move Messi into the centre? you move him to the right were he has produced his best football.

You don't always need a battling holding midfield, someone like Senna or even Yaya Toure can do that role perfectly and neither are "aggressive" and both can retrieve the ball and start dictating the play all in one moment.

Would love to seem a team with Messi and Ronaldo on the wings supported by Alves and Evra.

Gerrard has struggled to find a consistent position in his own team.

I don't get why Gerrard is held in such high standard there are alot better midfielders then him, and have been for a long time.

'greed. Gerrard can't even kick the ball with his left peg. Technically poor.

The season before he headbutted Hunt's knee (or the one before that?) he was outstanding and up there as arguably the best in Europe that season, since then he has been quite poor in comparison and I wouldn't say even in the top 3 in his own league let alone other European Leagues.

Casillas has been outstanding over the past year or so.

As a side note, Carlo Cudicini has made around 138 league appearances since he joined Chelsea 10 years ago, what a waste of a career.

Casillas is 27 and has 436 appearances for Madrid, as well as 88 international caps. Could certainly break Matthaus' international record.

Pepe Reina on 421 career appearances at 26  , but only 12 international caps. Reina the Nigel Martyn of Spanish football.
