Premier League relegation

by Focher » 29 Jan 2009 11:24

Got a feeling the 3 that came up will go down, Hull are in freefall.

What do you lot think?

Its quite open this season. Anyone from 10th down can be dragged into it after a game or two.

I still think Pompey are going to struggle so for me it:

Stoke & West Brom down before the start of May
"Grand Slam Relegation Dogfight Battle Royale Sunday" (or whatever bullshit name Sky come up with) to decide the last relegation place between Hull, Pompey and Boro (and maybe Sunderland - but I think they'll be just about OK).

West Brom, Stoke + one other.

Hoping Pompey.

The thing is with Stoke & West Brom is that they will scrap to the bitter end. I just don't think you can say the same about Pompey, Newcastle & M'boro. I honestly think two of those three will go down.

In RFC's history, have we been a league above PFC?

My dream relegation trio would be Spurs, Pompey and Citeh, sadly looking less likely now but it will only take a couple of results for that to change again.

Chuck Newcastle in instead and watch the greatest supporters in the world ((c) every dickhead pundit ) desert them in droves next season.

If I were dreaming, I'd see Spurs, Newcastle and 'boro go down.

However, I can't see past Stoke & WBA. The third one's going to be tighter than a nun's fanny.

Especially if we go up!! I really want Hull to come down agfter everything that was said earlier in the season about how brilliant they are and how clubs in our division want to follow the Hull model......I'd rather follow the RFC model!!

of the teams in trouble, I'd vote Pompey, Bolton and Blackburn. The first two for RFC reasons, the last one because an irrational (minor) dislike.

I really want Hull to stay up, ditto Boro and Wigan, three of my favourite Premiershp clubs ( with Villa).

I suppose the calculation to be made is we need half a dozen "weak" sides to stay up for next year. I'd say WBA, Hull, Wigan (losing their best players), Stoke, Fulham (next season) plus, say, Brum would do.

With Pompey down on goal difference after seeing their closest rival win against a second string side resting players for the FA cup final.
