hughsies no.1 Anyone looking at their situation and feeling little bit smug about it?
I know we were at fault for our relegation but with Pompey loosing at home to Fulham with a weakened team really fustrated me and to top that off they knicked the legend that is Glenn Little (and he currently aint getting a look in) and won the FA Cup which is a competition our club dont give a flying sh*t about which I wish we did.
now they lost harry, defoe, diarra, Adams, out of FA Cup, Uefa Cup, League Cup and potentially looking at relegation whilst we are looking like a good bet for promotion.
could just be me but was wondering if anyone else was feeling the same.

CMRoyal I grew up in Hampshire being lorded over by Pompey and Saints fans (ignoring the Leeds (!), Man Utd, Liverpool glory-hunters), so the idea of them both getting relegated this season while we get promoted is too delicious to contemplate.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe And still the media treat Redknapp as a God.
The best manager ever and spending money his clubs can't afford.

TBF, he took over again at Pompey when they looked relegation certainties, kept them up, won the cup, had them comfortably mid table, at which point he left and they have subsequently dropped like a stone.
Can't see why his last Pompey spell wouldn't have improved his stock as a manager TBH.
With large amounts of money available for the manager to make record signings, the club finished their 2006-2007 season in the Premier League in the top half of the table for the first time, only one point short of European qualification;
has gone on to work miracles at Spurs.

Sun Tzu Didn;t he actually jump ship at the point where the rot had set in, the stories of real financial troubles at the club were in the press and he cleverly got out at the right time and has gone on to work miracles at Spurs.

Is he respopnsible for the players earnings then? Seeing as their wages/turnover is around 90%, surely the fault points to Peter Storrie the board and Gaydamak for not being realistic with their ambitions. Redknapp brought in the players he was allowed to spend the money on

'Arry was smart enough to see what was happening, and jumped when it was clear that there'd be no more money. Only later was it announced that Gaydamak wanted out and wouldn't put anything else in - but @Arry knew it earlier.
Adams was stupid enough to pick up the basket case that was left.
