Campaign for Chearleaders and better pre/half time entertain

by Harry Carry » 11 Feb 2009 12:18

Having been to see the NY Knicks a couple of weeks ago it dawned on me how bad the pre match and half time entertainment is at Reading.

Any ideas how it could be improved?

Knicks had Cheerleaders
Interactive games with the crowd
Good shows at half time and in time outs
Music playing at various stages of the game....

Macabre tossing, for our more pessimistic fans.

A few of us were discussing the same thing on the way to the Barnsley game and the final consensus was to get the Thames Valley Jets to return - but using the original ones from the 90's (who would now be in their twenties).

Discussing Reading FC on the way to an away game

All we talk about is pubs to go in before the game, whether to go to the game or not, if we go to the game whether to leave at half time or not and then where we plan to go once we're back in 'ding.

Funny you should mention this - only Glo, Sam, Sarah, Russellers and my good self have approached the club with a view to being the new cheerleaders. I'll let you know when we get a reply.

The Knicks had a disabled team called the 'Rolling Knicks' who came on at half time, perhaps you could be the 'Rolling Thames Valley Jets'.....

Did you order tickets before the night of the game when you went?? Was there in December and wanted to see a Knicks game, but it was our last night so didn't know if it was gonna be aggro getting a ticket so didn't bother.

We just picked up tickets on the night. Got there early and got tickets for $60 each.

We were warned that a lot of tickets sold outside MSG were fakes. So just took the safe option. It was busy but not totally packed. So if there are a small number of you it's easy to move to better seats. Saying that, there isn't really a bad view in there.

Half Time should be about half times scores elsewhere and nothing else.
