Banners

by blue_army1871 » 16 Feb 2009 19:39

I don't know about everyone else but i've always thought that having banners up against the railings at the madstad would look very good. A bit like the stretford end at Old Trafford.

I think it is possible and would add a bit of colour and character to the ground.

I remember placing the American flag over the XBOX signs on the south stand hoardings and being told to take it off. I told the steward that as i owned enough games and consoles i could fecking put my flag up  My daughter ended up wearing the flag to keep her warm.

Why couldn't the south stand be used to place any banners. There are sometimes excellent examples at away games.

The companies that advertise don't want idiots with banners covering up what they've paid good money for.

Would you?

I think i understand a lot about advertising. The flag wasn't even unfurled, it was resting folded up in top of the post, slightly covering the advertising. Not much, just i tiny little bit. I'm sure i never dented microsofts profits for that miniscule discretion.

Anyone watching the Milan derby on BBC 3 will have seen the banners. Particularly the ones at each end that ran almost the entire width of the stand. Production of such work would need lots of time, commitment and organisation though.

We suffered from the same situation. The kids' banner was covering a very small part of the copyright 'c' at the top right hand corner of the hoarding. It was still regarded as sufficiently intrusive to warrant an order that it be removed. This despit the fact that the advertising message could still be read clearly.

The madejski stadium has stands that have a smaller capacity than the Stretford End at Old Trafford

There you go, easy

What about along the back of the stand?
The flags of certain players nationality is pretty gay anyway.

Or do what some people did at Southampton and for some inexplicable reason, put your banner/flag ON THE FLOOR so no-one can actually see it, unless you're sat near the front, but it does allow for people to slip and hurt themselves whilst celebrating a goal.

I think I've discovered why the above risk is minimal.

I meant our goal. When we were AWAY to Saints.

within seconds of TMD and Tilehurst Lad (RIP) putting it up, it was taken down and some Reading fans got a little angry about the banner. So these RFC fans must have been racist.
