Gutted about today but a few lagers and a kebab have dulled the sense enough to finally post.

However I have no answers as to how we have suddenly become so inept.

The one thing that I would say is that we are not good enough for the Premier League in our present form and should we be promoted, would be slaughtered every week, even by the average teams.

Shame because this league is there for the taking by anybody who can string together a half decent run of results. Can't see it being us though...

Its not been a sudden decline though, this has been a gradual demise since the Birmingham away game

That is very true. At that point I though we would more than likely go up, but even the 4-0 win against Watford was uninspiring and since then it's been desperate.

To paraphrase John Cleese in Clockwise, it's the hope I can't take. When we've lost in the play-offs (probably semis) at the end of the season I can relax knowing that things are as they should be for a long-suffering Reading fan.

The 17 Bus
North Somerset Royal . Worryingly according to SC on BBCRB he only pulled Kebe off because of an injury.

do you actually believe that??

No but the worrying thing is that Kebe probably does.

We have the serious jitters. Hope that proved harper and cisse werent to blame for last week.matejovski wasnt much better and gave it away more than harps ever would.we were good in the first half then just fell apart.kebe should have scored,he and hunt were poor again.and we look really wet as a team.no confidence at all and incapable of changing our game.gutted.ruined another weekend.need a flukey 1-0 on tuesday.

I think that we have more chance of breaking this bad run away than at home. Our style of counter attacking play is more suited to away situations where the onus is on the other side to go forward. Also the away support is a thousand times better than at home and if we really get behind the team Tuesday night I think we could easily get a win against a Wednesday side that have not been too hot at home. Having said that we have failed to sell the 500 tickets allocated and are taking so few that we have been moved from the usual upper tier allocated at Hillsborough to away fans. Hope you are going BW to add gravitas to the occassion.

Not going.got a long and shit day at work instead.hope we can turn this round without my gravitas. Just thinking it through, its not the centre midfield.its not coppels unwillingness to change the personel,or to change our shape midgame. That just leaves the goalie, the defence, the wingers, or the strikers or starting with 442. Change one at a time, starting with both wingers on tuesday. Get henry back!(cant believe i said that)and play tabb.

Tabb has got to play from the start. He might simply be that spark we need to freshen the team up.

I'm not sure what's more depressing. This time last year I was convinced we'd get relegated or is it this season when I'm convinced we won't get promoted? I hoped Coppell would get sacked in the summer, but I was prepared by the RTG's to accept and give him another chance, so I'm afraid his lack of ability to reverse an alarming dip of form in what is a shite league, makes me want to sltit my wrists.

This time last season cost us our Premiership status and I'm afraid Coppell has made the same mistakes with loyalty and his judgement on the sqaud ability, that is going to cost us again this season.

It's looking like the muppets that protested in the car park have resigned this club into a future much like Charlton, so I'll happily see all you stupid cvnts in div 1, or will I ?

Might that be because he actually passed the ball forwards? I do admit he became invisible in the second half but he gave us hope in the 1st. As for S Hunt, I hope no Premiership sides were watching that or we may be stuck with him!

winchester_royal TBH I didn't think there was a huge amount wrong with the performance. However there is 1 crucial area where we are failing, and that is out on the wings, Shunt's delivery at the moment, both from set plays and open play was crap, whilst Kebe looks demotivated.

Oh how nice it was when Tabb came on and we saw a winger who could both beat players and cross. Tabb, BK and Karacan to start on Tuesday please SSC.

Other than failing to create a single chance in the second half at home to a bottom four side you mean?

Tabb looked good on the ball, he has to start against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

My immediate thoughts on leaving the game yeserday were that if we'd had a goal from one of the many chances we had it would have been a different game. Despite that, I thought the team would get a lot of criticism for their performance and that's only because people care what happens on the pitch and that we're all on the same side; we all want them to win/score/play better but we don't know what goes on behind the scenes or in training and can only guess.

We've got games in hand, so I'd say we've got nothing to lose by going all out on the attack just to get that ellusive goal. The worst that can happen is that we lose and we've done that in the last two matches, so put that behind us, treat it like the start of the season and just go for it.

If I were Coppell, I start the turn-around in fortunes by stopping SHunt from taking any set pieces, if he has to start at all. His free kicks and corners are woeful.
