If I were Coppell, I start the turn-around in fortunes by stopping SHunt from taking any set pieces, if he has to start at all. His free kicks and corners are woeful.

I think he's starting to change that already by getting Marek to take them too.

I thought Forest defended and battled well, and fully deserved their victory.
They had the chance to take the match and they took it.
We couldn't.
I don't think I saw more than 3 consecutive passes in Forests' half, blame that on choosing the wrong option more than not and blame that on no real aggressive movement.

Anyway, form is temporary, class is permanent.

The problem is that Hunt is a pushy little f*cker who always wants to take free kicks, corners, pens. Marek needs to stamp his authority and tell the guy to feck off out of the way. Marek's free kicks and corners were brilliantly floated in each time; Hunt's free kicks were actually OK but his corners rarely got passed the first man.

I used to be part of the 'Marek's overrated brigade' but he's I still think he's 10 times better than Harps purely because he's more creative and attacking. We were actually passing the ball around at times yesterday too rather than reverting to hoofing up the field and this I'm sure is down to the two central midfielders we had (though this changed when we went 1 down and we reverted back to hoofing).

We also missed a captain yesterday. Doyle is a good player but he isn't a captain. I'd bring Murty back, play him at RB and put Liam right wing.

Armstrong is beginning to show cracks in the armour too. He was caught out of position on occasions from him pushing up field (deja vu Shorey?).

Other than that, yes we were w*nk for 35 mins in the second half, but there were more positive signs in this game than in the previous few matches. Play like we did first half and we'll be fine.

Oh, and one more thing, get Blakey and Kitson back on loan!! They're not even on their f*cking subs benches.

I'd say in sereval cases Armstrong is better than Shorey.

I'm not sure that is entirely true. I don't know who our penalty taker is, as Doyle/SHunt/Lita have all jockeyed to take it at some point or another.

Sure...

...we absolutely domianted the first half, but failed to make the many many chances count.

After 1/2 time Not F continued to deploy their amazing time wasting tactics and really slowed the play down. We started to play more and more disjointed and they put a run together and scored.

They slowed the game down further and we just could not cope. Their time wasting was a sight to behold, I have NEVER EVER seen anything like this so consistantly in a game of football. It was borderline cheating.

We have serious problems as we cannot break down a team that either slows the team down or plays a five man midfield (last week).

We need to change our shape otherwise we are going to have real problems.

Sadly, it proved to me (but it was obvious from the moment yesterdays team was announced) that Coppell continues to bark up the wrong tree in his pathetic attempts to arrest the slide of a team that should still be wiping the floor with sides like lowly Forest.

Once again, our manager is the only one to blame for this totally avoidable disaster unfolding before the eyes of those who can still face watching.

In fact, unless I'm mistaken, things could have been a whole lot worse. Weren't Forest playing 4-4-2? If so, given that it appears to have been Mareks poor defensive work that allowed Forest to score, God knows what would have happened had he and Gunnarsson been up against a typical 3 man central midfield in a 4-5-1

Whatever faults an out of form Harper brings to the party, supreme fitness means he usually does a good job with his defensive work. The fact that Steve Coppell couldn't see the glaring weakness in yesterday's team and that playing Marek will require a change in formation, is one of a number of reasons why I can't face watching at the moment.

I'm not even sure I can face Radio Berks on Tuesday because I'm dreading what the product of yet more flawed thinking will produce at Hillsborough.

Let me put it to you another way.
We're in poor form, but I'm convinced that we have the quality to score goals, win matches and get promoted.

A new manager, someone probably pretty much untried and untested because no other manager worth his salt will want to come to a club where there won't be the money available for buying the players we need at the next level, a Chairman who wants to sell, so won't be invested much, if anything, into the team, players who are not good enough for the Prem - us getting beaten out of sight by most of the clubs in the Prem? Great. Bring. It. On.

It is truly sad that those who wish to discuss yesterdays match have to suffer w@nkers like you in the process.

Um I thought that despite we lost (to an average side) we were the better team. Tbh nothing is falling for us atm and it's just a matter of time before it does again.

Not in the second half. Forest stretched us on a number of occasions and looked the more likely to score a second. It was only in the last 10 minutes(including injury time) that we put them under sustained pressure with cross after cross all of which their defence coped comfortably with.
We played ok in the first half but created very little despite loads of corners.
How many decent saves did Smith have to make in the entire game?.....none.
